It's nothing on you at all Chris - I'm just not a fan of this particular statistic.

Oh, that's fair. I've had a hard time trying to determine where it fits into the picture as well and what else you can couple it with, if anything, to add something valuable to a discussion on receivers.

Wahoo! No dumb numbers in this.

Matt Maiocco: Day II of 49ers kicker competition: Both looked fine in warmups. Cundiff has more pop in his leg than Akers. Practice begins. Media leaves.

49ers Blog and Q&A: 49ers playing odds, warming up for Packers

When practice began today, practice squad receiver Chad Hall was in a No. 18 jersey while wideout Ricardo Lockette was wearing No. 87. Tight end Garrett Celek, meanwhile, was dressed in a No. 88 jersey. The logical conclusion: The 49ers are getting a head start on preparing for the Green Bay Packers and their offensive weapons Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley.

And before the usual suspects show up and cry that the 49ers have stopped preparing for other teams, I've seen other teams on byes practice this same way.

Doesn't this just go along with the story you posted earlier (at least I think it was you)? The one that they'd spend time getting ready for the Packers, Seahawks, and Redskins? Just seems like this practice was for the Packers, probably did something for the Seahawks and Redskins on previous days.

I am huge on this kid right now - absolutely huge! I hope he is on the 46 next season.

Replacing Delanie Walker and his drops? Just kidding, (I know you meant active roster on game day) but I did read somewhere that if Roman left he might take Walker with him. Is Walker on his last year or was this just a silly comment I read? Or is there another Walker on the team in coaching that I don't know of (he only used the last name and I only know Delanie)?

Hopefully he is ready to go if the 49ers lose Delanie to free agency, which I think they might. He breaks our hearts with drops, but he does a lot of stuff pretty good so I think he'll draw interest from a few teams.

Ahh, so they must really have meant Delanie. He is a good blocker and catches the ball sometimes if you drill it into his chest. ;)
