Again, mea culpa. Somehow 7-6 doesn't "feel" like a winning season. As for firing a coach and hiring an even worse one, Notre Dame fans know a lot about that.

it doesn't matter if it "feels" like one or not... 7-6 is above .500. And we saw what Michigan did in 2011 with RRod's players. As eric said, an offense like RRod's is going to take several years to implement.

Well, RR's caliber is certainly debatable. Ask Arizona fans.

outside of Dick Tomey, Arizona's had a pretty forgettable football program. 2014 was the first time Arizona finished ranked since 1998. They also played in the PAC-12 Championship, a conference they've never won (by themselves, they finished in a three way tie in 1993). Arizona's been to four bowls in RRod's five full seasons and there's a good chance they're playing in another, not to mention the division looks to be wide open.

He's a victim of his own early success at Arizona. He was awful last season, but appears to righted the ship this season, they could be a 7/8 win team in the regular season, which is good considering it's Arizona. And no doubt he was on the hot seat entering the season. Hell, he's a win this weekend from being ranked in the top 25.

WEll, then, he must be a great coach.

I wouldn't say he's great, but he's certainly proven to be better than Hoke, which was my point all along. Hell Hoke might be out of coaching soon, it's not like the Tennessee D-line is playing great or anything.

I'd take Hoke on as a recruiting coordinator, or something like that.

Hoke was never Michigan's first choice. He simply didn't have the necessary skills to run a major CFB program.

I'd agree. Or maybe he's just not cut to be a HC at a P5 school. He did a good job turning Ball State around, maybe that's his HC ceiling.

Who was Michigan's first choice? We heard most of Hoke's tenure that he was because no one else was made an offer to. David Brandon was not a fan of Harbaugh after he slammed UM for their education standards for athletes.

Harbaugh has always been Michigan's first choice. As for Brandon, where's he now?

That's besides the point. The man making the hiring decisions is the one that matters. Who was his first pick to coach Michigan? Many Michigan fans called Harbaugh a traitor after his comments while he was at Stanford. It was only after he succeeded at the NFL level and Hoke failed that they changed their minds.

Again, that ^^^ is your narrative.

Yes based on speaking to actual Michigan fans and being on ESPN message board. It's hard to know what Michigan's narrative is because it is constantly changing from Rich Rod is the greatest coach ever to we never wanted him to Hoke is going to bring back to the glory days and will only be better once he gets his guys in there to oh we never wanted him, and then it's Harbaugh is the greatest coach in college football. What's going to be if Michigan fails or if he goes to the NFL?

I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out from being on the ESPN message board. Yeah, that's where you can get the most accurate information.

You do know I live in Michigan, right? I have worked in Ann Arbor for 5 years including the entire time Hoke was at Michigan and have worked in the Ann Arbor area for 15 of the last 16 years, so yeah, I've had a few conversations with Michigan fans.

Then, you MUST have the most "accurate" information.
