Perhaps I misunderstood how you are defining a "close prediction".

If you are 8 points off of both teams, are you labeling that as a "close prediction"?

IE. Your Prediction: Team A 20, Team B 21 Actual Result: Team A 12, Team B 29

Yes. 8 points is most a team can score on 1 possession. So, I need to be 8one possession or closer to both teams' score.

I've always done it this way. It is not so much a way to have more close predictions, I just find it easier to calculate. I used to do just the AP Top 25 and 5-10 other games.

Plus, this is the first time I have had more close predictions than wrong picks halfway through the season. No matter how I do it, there will always be someone who doesn't like how I do it.
