I'm pretty sure Highsmith is gone after this season. They can't afford to pay him and Watt at the same time. That's going to be 20-25% of the cap just on two OLB's.

Getting Bud back, and maybe even drafting an OLB high (like Nolan Smith or Myles Murphy) is certainly in the cards.

I'm good signing him back to a contract that recognizes he's a backup/wave player.

He was always good vs the run, which we've had trouble with lately.

Smart to bring him in to at least gauge his physical condition before talking numbers with his agent. No matter the reasoning. His health is definitely a concern here.

Ooh well. Would have liked to have him back as experienced depth if the price was right. But also not fretting over him going elsewhere.

Heard he declined the deal that the Steelers offered. Looks like he took a better deal, even if only marginally so.

Not losing any sleep over it either. ATL loves them some athletic edge rushers that don't produce much results lol.
