Houston is looking to dump Paul's entire salary, not $12M worth. They want to clear cap space to go after Butler.

And not only that, they would have to trade Capela or Gordon. That would be much easier though, especially Capela.

Does Paul want out of Houston?

Butler is good but a locker room distraction.

He doesn't get along well with Harden apparently. He's a hard-nosed perfectionist, reminds me of Kobe a bit, and that can drive teammates crazy.

That's why I suggested Boston

Two bad contracts and Paul's leadership could be clutch for the young team and he's ok deferring shots.

If Houston gives up on the pipe dream of signing a max FA this summer, it could work.

Paul looked fat and out of shape last season.

Asked earlier do you know if he can veto trades in his final year? Because I'd def be dumping him year three and giving up some picks to add a max by then

He has a player option for his final year, so you would have to wait until he opted in to trade him after year 3. Otherwise, if you can find a taker, you could trade him. Could be tough with that $44.2M looming for a 36 year old player that may already be starting to show signs of sliding.

How about this trade? It would allow the Bucks to dump Ilyasova's contract and the Bucks get two former All-stars back. Makes sense.

This one is better and less complicated, probably would add in a Bucks 1st though. With your trade offer I don't think MIL would do it bc Ilyasova is such a great player and he is on a FANTASTIC contract.

That is ridiculous.

Either they want to trade Paul or they don't.

If they do want to trade him they are going to do whatever it takes to get rid of his ridiculous contract.

Fultz, Augustin, and Mozgov represent 3 effectively expiring contracts. While I'm sure they would like to get a contract that expired this season, that's a nice to have.

If they made that trade, it would be a huge win for the Rockets. I doubt the Magic would do that trade though because Paul's contract is a 3 year albatross and he would be a bitter little point guard in Disneyworld.
Why are you stuck with CP3? I only mentioned him as an example.... say that is Harden instead.... Or even OKC (who is deep into the lux tax) with either Wesrbrook's or PG's contract...

Ok... take this example... Orlando wants to buy PG from OKC and the Thunder want to give away as little as possible from loosing PG, but to dump 13M of salary too... and then Orlando comes up with Gordon + a pick + JR Smith...
