I think you start Brock. At least for the first few games of the season. The team isn't really set for competing yet, so might as well bring the rookie along. He doesn't have the build to take a pounding like Big Ben, and allowing him more time to develop his ability to read a defense and not just tuck and run will go a long way. Not just in keeping him healthy, but developing him as a starter for years down the road and getting the most out of his talent.

It's the Browns, so why not go with the rookie DeShone Kizer who has by all accounts done everything he can to get to know the players off the field and learn the play-book.

Brock will start the first few weeks, but Kizer is clearly the best QB in the room and his ability to manage the pocket is a good fit with the Browns OL and running ability. Think a young Big Ben- he'll hold the ball too much- but he's going to make a play for you if you give him a chance.
Agree with this, watched the game and he holds on way too long, but clearly has skills. Unfortunately, no veteran around to show him the ropes. Also agree they should start Crock, see if he can win some games, and if he flops again, ease in Kizer with a playbook more tailored to his skills.

It was a confusing question so I just voted all options. Thanks!

While the Brown's want to show improvement, they still have a slew of draft picks in the top 3 rounds next year and wouldn't mind picking in the top two or three. Ideally they need about 4 wins in 17. Shows progress but still leaves them with good picks. Also they need to see what Kizer can do so that they can make a decision on drafting a QB next year.
Kizer should start.

I'd go with Kizer from the start.

Brownies should go with Kizer if he continues to outperform Osweiller in the preseason.

He's going to make some dumb mistakes that may cost you games, but so will Brock. Plus Kizer provides a lot more upside than Brock does.

Agree with There's a Moose...Oz will probably start if he's on the roster week 1 and they give him 4 games...I think if he's 2-2, they will stay with him but 1-3 or 0-4 it looks like a good stopping point to insert Kizer for week 5.

At some point this season Kizer will get the keys.

Wont happen, I think this upgrade Oline, and let's not forget their defense has added some nice new pieces as well, they could very easily win 6-7 games this year!

Kizer.

Kessler is just good enough to get them to 4 or 5 wins. Kizer is either going to suck or he is going to be the best option but either way you at least know what you have. Osweiler isn't good enough to get them to 4 or 5 wins and you won't know if Kizer is any good.
