This is also interesting for the "you can't compare" crowd. Because that is exactly what NFL.com did.

Don't tear your rotator cuff patting yourself on the back. Pretty sure you weren't the only one expecting a deal shortly before the deadline.

Actually the Wilson signing might even make it easier to keep Wagner.

This is from CBS sports:
"The real problem for Wagner is now the Seahawks don't need to use the franchise tag on Wilson after 2015. There's no fifth-year option for Wagner either, but the Seahawks can retain his services by locking him down via the tag.

And the franchise tag for linebackers is far less prohibitive than the tag for quarterbacks, not to mention the importance of the game.

The Seahawks won't be able to keep everyone forever, but they're in pretty good shape when it comes to having their core pieces around for the next couple of years. Even if Wagner won't like the methodology."

yeah, citing the NFL is always the end all/be all.

"but but but the NFL said it"

good god.

"the NFL" is also comparing a puff of air to a DUI, murder, attempted murder, and domestic assault.

I highly doubt they tag Wags. Only because they have been reluctant to use the tag. JS/PC have only used it ONCE . on Olindo Mare of all people their first year in Seattle.

So NFL Brady stats = good, Wilson NFL stats = bad? A stat is a stat. The numbers are what they are. I should also add that Wilson did his first 3 years in arguably the toughest defensive division in the NFL. If he'd played a cream puff division his numbers might be even more impressive.

It's all the intangible stuff where Wilson excels the most anyway.

Let Francis have his dream. Time will tell.

I see. Like you could say that Brady's numbers are overinflated because he's played the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills for 15 years? That kind of thing?

Why would I look up his stats vs everyone else?

Here is what a wise man once told me:
