Why couldn't we trade Gomes or someone of that caliber? We get rid of Uribe and Johnson, who are good ball players, for a couple of unproven pitchers?

Had to get something for 'em while they had some value I guess, we're in a complete rebuild for sure as of now. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get rid of a couple more before it's all said and done. It's all about the future so it's gonna be a rough last half of this season and probably next too. I just hope we play spoiler for somebody now.

The starting pitching will be solid, so I have hope for a competitive year next year. They have exceeded most expectations this year too.

If we're rebuilding, it makes sense to get something for players who will be free agents at season's end. Hate to see them go, and hate it that they went to the Mets, but it was to be expected.

Gomes, Pierzynski and Jim Johnson will probably be gone too.

And if we can find a taker for Chris Johnson, which isn't very likely, he'll be gone.

We have a lot of money and a lot of prospects.

We can be competitive next season, and we should be playoff material by 2017.

Oh well, At least I'm conditioned for this shit. I've been waiting since 1981 for Clemson to contend again.

I'm reading that we're sending Alex Wood, Jim Johnson and Jose Peraza, our number 1 ranked prospect to the Dodgers.

I don't know who we're getting in return, but it damn well better be a king's ransom.

I'm hoping Peraza isn't part of the deal, I was looking forward to him being a part of our future. And Alex Wood was my favorite pitcher on the team.

I'll hold judgement until I see what we get in return, and John Hart has done a good job of getting good pieces.

Surprised would give up top prospect like Peraza. I thought we were collecting prospects, not giving them up.

I have faith that Hart wouldn't make a trade like that unless we got something significant in return. I'm anxious to see who we're getting.

Peraza isn't official yet, he's just rumored.
