Precisely my point..... No Jones and no Eifert was a huge loss. AJ only played part of the season.

Will we be okay if AJ and Eifert are healthy for 16 games? Sure. Is there any reason to believe they will be? No.

Take Eifert out of this offense with the losses of Sanu and Jones and I think we struggle. It would be too easy to take AJ away if there wasn't anyone else out there to scare them. That worries me.

They were still an AJ Green typical big game fumble from having a home playoff game that season, so lets not act like they were 4-12 without the 2 porcelain dolls

I think that had more to do with a weak schedule and a weak division. Our passing game was pathetic.

Once Hill got into the Starting lineup, his performance was equaled by no other runningback the rest of the season. Even the Defense kept San Diego at bay in the playoff game going into the 4th Qtr.

It's so nice to be the favorites in the Division once again going into this season. The Brown's did a great job the last two seasons retaining players.

You're confusing 2014 with 2013..... It was 2013 that we lost to San Diego in the playoffs. That year, we had three healthy receivers, two (somewhat) healthy tight ends, and a great pass-catching running back (Bernard).

In 2014, Hill did have a big second half of the season.... But he was shut down in the games that it counted. He had less than 50 yards in a home loss against Pittsburgh and less than 50 in a road playoff loss at Indy. This is a passing league.... Hill won't save us.

BTW -- I'm on record as saying that I thought 2014 was the best coaching job by our coaches. Aside from Hill's nice late season run, I can't think of anything we did very well that year compared to the season right before (13) and the season right after (15). Lots of injuries (Eifert, Jones, Burfict, Green for much of the year, Gresham) and our best defensive player (Atkins) was a shell of his normal self.

Hill read his clippings last spring and then spent the entire year dancing around instead of hitting the holes. In defense of Hue, Jackson tried to fix that and shouldn't have had to deal with it in the first place. Hill thought he was back in College. Hope he got humbled enough.

At least now both running backs have fumbles that cost us a playoff win

Oh, no doubt. Valid points. You do have to hope that both can stay healthy enough for the majority of the season, but it's almost a no brainer that they have to go WR in round one and get a guy who is ready to come out and contribute.

They'll look at some other WR's, but not UFA's.

There will be a dozen Veteran Free Agents available who will be cut that can fill the role of Starter opposite Green for one year.
It won't be a demanding position from a Receiving standpoint. More importantly, will be his ability to block. And, it's for that reason, that Marvin isn't going to put a Rookie out there, and why, not in a million years, are they going to consider drafting Braxton Miller.

At best, this position will be #4 in targets, receiving less than 50 targets (approximately 33 catches) for whoever wins the starting job. When he's not being targeted, he needs to be doing all of the other things he can do to help the play succeed. That's why they are looking at someone like LaFell. He does everything competently.

Give me the name of 3.

Years ago we would always talk about free agent wide receivers and how much they would help.... How many of these mid-level guys change teams and actually make one bit of difference?

I've got something to do for several hours, but when I come back, I'll give you a dozen.

We aren't looking to "change the team", but as Whitworth vehemently stated, "how many sacks a player allows is but a miniscule part of a Lineman's value to the team...that accounts for maybe 1% of all of his plays". The same is true for whoever we sign to replace Jones. His worth to the team won't be measured in how many catches, yards or TD's he gets, but whether or not he did the job asked of him on the other 92% of his plays he's in on. For that, he makes a big difference.

And that doesn't include the ones who haven't been cut, yet, whom the Bengals have in mind.

I will guarantee you right now that there is not a single guy on that list that will have more than 200 yards receiving for the Bengals in 2016. I guarantee it.

Yeah...that's not the shopping list the Bengals will be using.

Yes....They will be using the one with players that aren't even as good as the garbage on that list.
