This is a good Pop Tarts Bowl between Iowa St and Miami, two exciting offenses.

Yes, nothing like flag football where nobody is forced to punt.

And when the hell did Iowa State change their school colors to Black and White?

That was a totally selfish chickenshit move by Cam Ward to opt out at halftime - either opt out for the whole game or play for the whole game, instead he played until he set his record then opted out. Showed he’s willing to risk injury in order to set a personal record, but not willing to to help his team win. What a selfish bum.

A really good game interrupted that 3 hour advertisement for edible poison.

Deion and company getting waxed by BYU - terrible performance to end a good season by the Buffs. BYU has a very good team, they were playoff contenders for much of the year, but Colorado looks lousy. Shedeur isn’t helping his case to be the top QB in the draft

Unlike Chickenshit Cam, Shedeur Sanders has played the entire game for Colorado even though they are getting blown out. I applaud him and Travis Hunter for playing tonight.

I agree. The pros will take note of Cam Ward's thought process. Then again, they may say he did the right thing for his career.

If he had opted out of the game period you could say he was protecting himself from injury and doing what was best for his career, as he had nothing to prove. Instead he played for himself just so he could get his record, then quit, showing he doesn’t care about his team and is selfish.

That seems to be true. We'll see how the pros react. If it was his decision he may have wanted to get back in near the end and the coach (rightfully said no.

I know, bro. Because of him, my Miami pick went south... part of a 2-6 day for me.

Outside of the playoffs, Bowl Season has become the equivalent of watching the spring game of the teams involved.

This is the problem with the transfer portal. There is no connection to the school in general and little time to become attached to teammates.
Especially when a coach really dips into the portal 2 or 3 years in a row.
If Notre Dame again goes for a transfer QB, they will never be able to recruit a 5 Star quarterback. Other positions also. ND signed a 5 star Wide Receiver (#1 receiver in Illinois) and red-shirted him this year. No issue there, but they then got a transfer wide receiver to be the primary next year.
What is the red shirted player thinking right now?

Bowl picks (December 30th and 31st)

Wild goose chases, Harry Potter wands, and a whole bunch of books I MAY be thinking about throwing out. None of that will happen during the next 5 bowls... and it may not have to for them to be exciting (All times are Eastern):

Today:
Music City Bowl: Iowa vs. Missouri [2:00, ESPN]
(This should be another dandy! Iowa closed out the 2024 season strong to get here, while Missouri is expected to have a strong following in Nashville for the game. And Missouri might not have Luther Burden III for this game, but QB Brady Cook is still here. For Iowa, they may be missing some of their top QB's, but they've always leaned on the defense to win games.)
My prediction: MISSOURI 28-21

Tomorrow:
Reliaquest Bowl: Alabama vs. Michigan [12:00, ESPN]
(In terms of program history, you just can't get any better than Alabama and Michigan. However, reality is telling me that Alabama is professional enough to internalize their playoff snub and come out to play in Tampa. Not to mention that the Tide has had many weeks to study how to break the Wolverines D.)
My prediction: ALABAMA 27-17

Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl: Louisville vs. Washington [2:00, CBS] (So despite Louisville facing a 6-6 team that has QB problems, Vegas only has them as a 2-point favorite. Hmm... Maybe it's because Louisville's own QB [Tyler Shough] isn't playing in the game. Or maybe it's because of the ACC's miserable bowl record right now. But honestly, I wanna see what sort of fight Washington has; if they come out swinging, they should get the upset.)
My prediction: LOUISVILLE 30-20

Cheez-It Citrus Bowl: South Carolina vs. Illinois [3:00, ABC] (So a couple of surprise teams in 2024 will meet here in Orlando. And there are no big opt-outs, which means both teams are ready. And we have a QB duel between Luke Altmyer and LaNorris Sellers! This game should be straight-up fun...)
My prediction: SOUTH CAROLINA 31-24 (...but give me the Gamecocks.)

Kinder's Texas Bowl: LSU vs. Baylor [3:30, ESPN] (Kinder is a BBQ spice brand, in case you're wondering. Anyway, this bowl could be sneakily brilliant: A team from the state of Texas not in the SEC battling LSU. And we have Dave Aranda [who has saved his job at Baylor] taking on Brian Kelly in a coaching showdown. AND we got another QB duel: Garrett Nussmeier [who says he's coming back to LSU in 2025] vs. Sawyer Robinson [the new wiz-kid for Baylor].
So what about the opt-outs? Well, Baylor only has a few of them. But LSU is now missing their top tight-end, 3 of their top WR's, and most of their O-line. So...)
My prediction: BAYLOR in an upset 37-34

Coming up tomorrow is what the guys at ESPN are most looking forward to: My quarterfinal picks.

PSU vs. Boise St.

PSU's D is ranked #7 out of 132 teams. the only 2 real defenses BSU has seen was the #12 and #29 defenses. after that you have to go dumpster diving to find the rest of the D they've seen.
