You are a biased Ole Miss fan - if you want your team to get in the playoff, try beating Kentucky. Until then maybe quit bitching. Sounds like you want an all SEC playoff. I think ND beats Georgia given that Georgia won’t have Beck.

And just like that…

Indiana had the momentum and threw it away with the terrible interception and boom ND runs it in on the next play for a TD
And then Notre Dame goes on to win the contest... and now faces Georgia. So my playoff record is now 0-1. Dang!

Yea. Two Really bad teams. Neither team beat anyone and comfortably in the top 10... laughable. They will be exposed next round.

Imagine being Penn St and having to beat SMU and Boise St to make it to 3rd round. .. Hahaha

and we suppose to believe we're watching the best teams. Lol
boohoo

Bowl picks (December 23rd)

With the 1st round of the CFP now over, the rest of the bowl games can now breathe and continue onwards. Here are my picks for today's action (All times are Eastern, and both games on ESPN):

Myrtle Beach Bowl: Coastal Carolina vs. UTSA [11:00 A.M.] (For some of you guys, this is the bowl game you'll try the most to ignore. I mean, it's just a pair of 6-6 teams fighting. But Coastal Carolina gets to play right on their home field in Conway, South Carolina. Why does Vegas have them as a large underdog? Did a big name transfer out?
...Oh, man! I just saw the opt-outs... 27 guys from Coastal are gone. TWENTY-SEVEN GUYS?!)
My prediction: UTSA 27-14

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl: Northern Illinois vs. Fresno State [2:30] (There are also a lot of opt-outs in this bowl game, but at least BOTH Fresno and Northern Illinois have the same amount of them. And at least BOTH Fresno and NIU will be starting new starting QB's. But do you know what travels best in football? Defense. And say what you will about NIU's "dicking around" after beating the Irish, but their defense is ranked 5th overall. The only defenses ahead of them... are all a part of CFP teams.)
My prediction: NORTHERN ILLINOIS 22-17

More picks to come...

Bowl picks (December 24th)

So God decided to bless Northern Illinois during their win in Idaho against Fresno State. Now He will rest and wait for all of his followers to bless him and Jesus tomorrow morning. I can't rest, though, because I have one more bowl to go before Christmas:

Hawaii Bowl: USF vs. San Jose State [8:00, ESPN] (What will happen when the Bulls meet the Spartans tonight [in a picturesque setting like Hawaii in the middle of December]? San Jose State will of course lean on their passing attack, but to me this game is ALL about the Bulls. Their offense can be very, VERY good as well. But let's mention that USF will be missing a lot more players to opt-outs than San Jose... and that their defense is so bad that it's horrid.)
My prediction: SAN JOSE STATE 35-23

So with that done, let me wish you a Happy Christmas!

Bowl picks (December 26th)

Well, Christmas is over. And that means the number of bowl games will shoot up... WAY UP. Here is today's action as the deluge begins (All times are Eastern, and all games on ESPN)

GameAbove Detroit Bowl: Pittsburgh vs. Toledo [2:00] (GameAbove is some sort of learning institution in Ypsilanti, Michigan [in case you're curious]. Anyway, Pitt is a little short-handed with people like Konata Mumpfield opting out. But Pitt will have QB Eli Holstein coming back to duel with Tucker Gleason and the Rockets. But can I really trust Toledo to beat an ACC team... when they lost to lowly Akron the last time I saw them?)
My prediction: PITTSBURGH 21-17

Rate Bowl: Rutgers vs. Kansas State [5:30] (No, I will not complain about the name of this bowl. Let's just focus on the offenses of both teams, because THAT will determine who wins this game in Phoenix. Kansas State has lost 3 of their last 4 games thanks to teams slowing down their power rushing attack, and they seem anxious to fix that problem [not too many opt-outs for the Wildcats here]. Meanwhile, Rutgers has their best scoring average [27.9 points per game] in 15 years. And both teams might not have their top RB's, but they ARE keeping their top QB's [it's Avery Johnson vs. Athan Kaliakmanis].)
My prediction: KANSAS STATE 24-21

68 Ventures Bowl: Arkansas State vs. Bowling Green [9:00] (I'm actually not too interested in this bowl game. I mean, it's only the 2nd time that Arkansas State and Bowling Green are facing each other [first since 1974]. But none of the opt-outs [for either team] look too big to me, so I'll just go with the hot hand of Jaylen Raynor and the Red Wolves to pull the upset.)
My prediction: ARKANSAS STATE 34-27

Five bowl games are coming up tomorrow, so stay tuned...

Toledo beats Pitt in 6 OTs in Detroit! Wow. Pitt had an epic collapse this year - started out 7-0, then lost their last 6

Yeah, that was not good news for me, either. At least Arkansas State was able to win their bowl game. And besides...

I was able to get THIS bowl pick right at least. What a dandy in Phoenix!

December 27th bowl picks

I have nothing witty to say here, especially since I had a lot of work to do. Let's get to my bowl picks for Friday (All times are Eastern, and all games on ESPN unless noted):

Armed Forces Bowl: Oklahoma vs. Navy [12:00] (Ah yes, the moment where a military school steps up to the plate and tries to silence a worthy opponent that might underestimate those guys. So will Navy blow by the Sooners? Hell no, this is an SEC school we're talking about. Though I am worried about QB Jackson Arnold not playing in this game... along with many, MANY other players for Oklahoma.)
My prediction: NAVY in an upset 24-20

Birmingham Bowl: Georgia Tech vs. Vanderbilt [3:30] (On the surface, this game doesn't look too big; Vanderbilt is limping into this game on a 4-game skid, while Georgia Tech's defense isn't really the best. But look deeper! We all know what Vanderbilt was able to do during the first 2 months of the season, while Georgia Tech have 2 wins over Top-10 teams [and they were VERY close to a 3rd]. Both teams have mobile QB's that WILL play in the game. And neither team really turns the ball over. I don't know how this one will go...)
My prediction: GEORGIA TECH 27-21 (...but I'm going with my ACC breadren.)

AutoZone Liberty Bowl: Texas Tech vs. Arkansas [7:00] (So former Southwest Conference teams will face off in a bowl game again. This time, it's the Razorbacks vs. the Red Raiders. And while Arkansas might not have their top rusher, they still have QB Taylen Green for the game. Meanwhile, Texas Tech is missing their top WR and top QB, but still has THEIR top RB [Tahj Boyd]. This could be another close game, but I DID hear that Arkansas' O-line is having some depth problems.)
My prediction: TEXAS TECH 37-30

Holiday Bowl: Syracuse vs. Washington State [8:00, FOX] (Here is the ol' stand-by for exciting games: The Holiday Bowl. I wanna hype THIS game up... and try to convince myself that Syracuse won't win this game. But Washington State has lost a LOT: Their head coach [who's now at Wake Forest], both of his coordinators, their top QB [who transferred to Oklahoma], and their top RB [who transferred to Utah]. Not to mention that nearly everyone [including Kyle McCord] is ready to go for the Orange.)
My prediction: SYRACUSE 44-30

Las Vegas Bowl: USC vs. Texas A&M [10:30] (This is another good looking battle between 2 teams who were playoff contenders early in the season. However, both teams saw their starting QB's transfer out, so I don't know how their offenses are gonna look like. But I DO know that Texas A&M had been winning in 2024 without much offense to begin with... and that A&M was a playoff contender a LOT longer than USC had been in 2024.)
My prediction: TEXAS A&M 23-17

Okay... Now I rest up for Saturday, where the bowl carousal will be at it's peak speed.
