How bad is the coaching when players commit incredibly stupid plays that actually costs game. Third and 20, runner out after 14-yard gain and the defense pushes the runner after he is at least 3 and maybe four yards out of bounds.
Was it a message to show how tough he was, probably not that since he pushed the runner in the back. Likely, it cost Iowa the game. The player should have been yanked out of game, and if he had eligibility left be told to go play somewhere else.

Unless of course, the coach is fine with this stupidity and just calls it aggressiveness. I am assuming the coach realizes it is against the rules, but then again who knows for sure.

Until recently, I would have agreed with you. But in college sports today, every player is an impending unrestricted free agent, so coaches have zero leverage to enforce discipline -- and it shows. Sure, a coach can try to be a hard-ass, but if he does, he's probably going to lose most of his players next time the portal opens, and that's probably not a winning strategy.

Except for the fact that when you get fired, you get tens of millions of dollars and a vacation, being a college coach is a horrible job now.

So to sum to up the last few weeks

Bama/SEC fans - " lol Ohio State lost to Michigan! They clearly are overrated . Michigan sucks!!"

Bama/SEC fans- " oh em gee!! Indianas SoS is awful! I cant believe the committee took them ahead of a much better team in Alabama! I mean Indianas best win all season is Michigan! MICHIGAN!"

Bama/SEC fans- " see? Indiana lost by 10 to ND! ND is not even that good. They definitely couldn't beat an SEC team. I mean other than the 1 they beat already.... Bama would've for sure smoked them and no SEC team would ever get clobbered like that in a playoff"

Bama/SEC fans - " i mean sure Tennessee lost by 25 to OSU. But you know OSU is really really good. Clearly the best team playing in the first round. Yes i remember when i said they sucked after they lost to Michigan but this was obviously a much different team today. And that doesn't change the fact Indiana shouldn't have been in over Bama as Bama is obviously the better team"

Bama/SEC fans - " you know sure we lost to Michigan but e didn't really want to be there. Yes i know Michigan had lots of opt outs and we really didn't have any but Michigan won the national title last year you know. They're not so bad"

Yes

And also

I apologize on the behalf of my team for blowing the B10s perfect record vs the SEC in Bowls this year by losing a 10 pt lead to #19 Mizzou

Sure on the last play of the game the entire Mizzou DL was offsides including 1 guy who was literally touching our center on the head before the ball was snapped

20241230_165859.jpgbut that's no excuse to lose our leagues perfect bowl season vs the vaunted nay ballyhooed nay insurmountable juggernaut called the SEC

I will now leave in shame

After a few more SEC cracks of course

It isn’t looking good.
If the Irish win tomorrow night the taunting will be deafening, as they should be.

Texas should be able to take care of business …..

Oh and Rutgers should have won. They blew a nice lead too.

Props to WA for going for the win but coming up short

And no, I didn't watch the Bama game because it held no interest for me. If we'd played someone else, then maybe. Even if we lost, just would have been something new.

After Illinois took care of business I was hoping Bielema would have said he was looking forward to hopping on his wife.

Anyone remember when he said that as the Arkansas HC?

I never really understood USC's offense this year. They had a really good running game, but it felt like Riley was hesitant to lean into it or just really quick to abandon it. Only three regular season games with 30+ carries. On the other hand, they had three games with 50+ pass attempts and another game with 49 (ND)... they lost all four of those games
Yeah, woody Marks was exceptional

Doesn't have the arm strength of Miller Moss, but he ran a nice 2 minute drill.

(I don't think Riley understands the offensive substitution rules though, they've been screwing that up all season).
Yes, I was happy when they got him but he wasted two seasons with a jclueless D Coordinator. This year I think they found so many innovative ways to lose games that they had won. TheNotre Dame game was the capper with the back to back 99 and 100 yard INTs for TDs
