I don't defend Bo one bit......I just got pissed because I posted this thread thinking, "woah.....this is kinda crazy."

And instead of ye all being like, "woah....that is kinda crazy".....ye all immediately go psycho and start in with the "YEA BT....YEA BUT....YEA BUT BO SUCKS......YEA BUT..."

If I wanted to debate on whether or not Bo is a good coach then I would have started a thread doing that. I started this thread cuz quite frankly it is extremely ironic that Bo could do something that no other coach can seem to do nowadays and yet he sucks so bad.

This kinda stuff drives fans crazy because there is no good explanation for why it happens.....and all we know is that we want Bo gone.....because those 2 short periods of time when we were better than everyone else years ago makes us the greatest program in the country today.

Just ask any of us.......we are supposed to win Championships here because we did that a couple of times a long time ago.

OP (you) used Tom Osborne, Barry Switzer, and George Woodruff as comparative examples.

Oklahoma State is definitely the best win Bo's had.

That was a seriously good team. They were probably a handful of plays away from playing for a national title.

Yeah. I'll go with 2010 Oklahoma St being Bo's best win.

Bo's best team was that '10 team. Fun to play the "what if" game. What if Taylor stayed healthy? What if Bo wasn't such a rageaholic who egged on officials who were probably on the fence about doing Beebe's dirty work?

That was a painful season to watch.

Bo's most impressive game was the 2009 Championship game.

It wasn't just Suh......it was Hagg.......it was Gomes......it was Prince. That was a hell of a unit.

I mean if you want to point to a big game that Bo should have won and luck faild him.....that is the game.

You tell your kicker "just don't kick it out of bounds"......and then what does he do? Then the extremely unfortunate horse collar along with the 1 second fiasco where the official on the field had 0 seconds on his clock but ABC had 1 second on their clock.....so we made up a new rule that we could review that and use the clock on the TV rather than the offical clock.

I literally credit Bo with that win.

Moral victories are a staple of this program under Pelini.

Tom and Barry both did it during a time when it was much easier.....there was no parity

They were winning 9 games with less overall games (opportunities).

It's a fairly meaningless stat. There are a many coaches to win 9 games a year 5 years in a row or more.
Saban has done it for 6 years now.

The only real point in your stat is that Bo won 9 games his FIRST year. That's it.

He won 9 wins his first year.

Western Michigan (9-4)(6-2) MAC
San Jose St.........(6-6)(4-4) WAC
New Mexico St.....(3-9)(1-7) WAC
Iowa St...............(2-10)(0-8)
Baylor.................(4-8)(2-6)
Kansas................(8-5)(4-4)
Kansas St............(5-7)(2-6)
Colorado..............(5-7)(2-6)
Clemson..............(7-6)(4-4) ACC

He beat a 9 win MAC team, an 8 win Big XII team, and a 7 win ACC team.

Yay Bo. You won 9 games your first year.

OP says this is about wins not "impressive" losses. Stay on topic.

Truly though......by the rule that was in place at that time, Nebraska won that game.

The rule stated that the only way time can be put back on the clock is if the official on the field has a different time on his official clock than what is on the scoreboard.

The scoreboard said 0......the official clock said 0. Game over.

Hate to bring it up again, but that is a win that won't go down as a win.

This really is the equivalent of someone reminiscing about the time they were raped.

WHY do Husker fans above all others choose to relive so many horrible memories?

I think it's a pseudo group therapy type of thing.... No one's gonna see a psychiatrist to try to resolve emotional issues regarding Nebraska football, but I honestly think I could use a session or two with a professional. Emotionally scarring. That is the best description I can give for the last 10 or so years of Nebraska football.

Not entirely true.

The rule stated the clock could not be reviewed unless there was an "egregious" error.

The scoreboard clock, in fact, had 1 second on it when the ball landed out of bounds.

The replay officials viewed it as 'since the 1 second played a part in the outcome of the game' it was "egregious".

We all know that 1 second is never reviewed throughout the course of that game or any game in the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter, or even with 1 minute to play in the 4th quarter. It was only reviewed because it was the last play of the game where the outcome was in play. i.e. "egregious"

NU made the penalties, Texas hit the FG. It was a loss. End of story.
