Sigh, the 1978 Red Sox

1951 Dodgers (although that was more on the red hot Giants)

Packers NFCCG vs Seahawks Jan 2015

With 5:13 left to play Packers intercept Wilson for 4th time in game... did nothing with the football (Burnett even went to ground as he could have probably gained another 10-20 yards). All Seattle after that pretty much.

Not the biggest collapse at all- you are thinking way too highly of the over-rated Yankees. Experts gave the Dodgers a slight edge over them from the beginning - The Dodgers played a almost perfect series and shut down the Yankees bullpen in the first three games. By then they learned how to over-come it too little and to late - It's walking driving your card and realizing that you just drove over the cliff before you realize that you ran out of real estate. The Yankees were built for the regular season - but not the world series

Brady over the Falcons in that Super Bowl, were up 28-3 at half

2003 Cubs (the Bartman game)

1951 Dodgers were up 13 games on the Giants in mid August, Giants won 37 of 44 remaining games and they finished tied, so they had a best of 3 series to win the pennant. And this happened (in the first baseball game ever televised)

1996 Saint Louis Cardinals - Up 3-1 in the NLCS against the Braves, they lost the final three games of the series by a combined score of 32-1. In Game 5, the Braves set a record for biggest NLCS shutout of all time by winning 14-0. In Game 7, they broke their own record by winning 15-0.

2011 Braves and 2011 Red Sox also deserve mentions for their September collapses and failures to make the playoffs.

Miami Hurricanes had a 31-0 lead on Maryland and lost 42-40. Fun fact-the Maryland QB (Frank Reich) was also Jim Kelly's backup and the guy who was QB for the Bills when they came back against Houston.

In the 70's the Redskins blew a game against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving day. They were up 16-3 in the 2nd half with Staubach out of the game and they ended up giving up a couple td passes to the backup and losing the game.
