I love ice cream.
I love ice cream.
Me too. (Im the exact same height and weight as that tubby fugger too.)
Is the creamery doing y'all's wedding?
Suh is obviously a better DT than McCoy. The DT position isn't just about sacks. QB pressures is an under appreciated stat. How has he done in that category? A defense will scheme away from a dominant force like Suh.
Culvers.
Culvers.
Lol- "You aren't paying attention to me."
Quote of the year so far. Puts a lot of this into perspective, hey?
I forgot all about that place. We have a Culver's by the mall in my neck of the woods. Have only eaten there twice, but they have some really good hamburgers and crinkle fries.

It's how I maintain my playing weight. Once Numba Nine discovers the glory of cheese curds we'll prolly extend him again. So Ziggy can test the FA waters.
Is this a prediction of Ziggy becoming Suh? Not being resigned because Mr.Moobs gets restructed.
5th year option won't be that bad for Ziggy. Unless they want him to prove he is worthy of it
A normal person who understand that asking a rhetorical question like "When was the last time a guy like Suh left after his first contract is basically the same as saying the last guy to leave was Deion over 20 years ago!"
The very simple point is this is so rare, to lose a player like Suh, that it hasn't happened in 20 years.
Brees, Drew, future HOF QB, abandoned by San Diego in the last 10 years. So, it does happen occasionally.

Not to mention Mario Williams and Julius Peppers, as TrustMe pointed out.
Those are two contemporary defensive linemen and a great comparison to the situation with Suh, especially Williams- he was a high draft pick who definitely panned out, only to play out his rookie deal and hit free agency.
Long story short is that it sucks, but it happens.
I don't remember the Texans being optimistic about being able to keep Williams either. I feel like they just let him go because of injuries and never tried to keep him. Unfortunately I don't have the time to fact check this right now.
Whelp, you know something pretty much has to be totally true when you and I are in complete agreement on the subject... I'm not sure what to make of this new phenomenon, though... not sure it's happened prior to this topic...Williams was coming off a season where he was injured, but he set the Texans team record for sacks with 54 during his 1st contract with the team. That is why he goes into this season as the highest paid defensive player in the NFL at 16 million a year.
Even with a player as dominant as Williams was for Houston when he was on the field -- the team put up comparable stats with his backup in the game and were better in some areas.
One player isn't going to crush a defense. As good as Suh is -- Detroit wouldn't completely fall apart without him. He isn't a QB. He isn't a player like Calvin Johnson who still puts up monster numbers when teams are double and triple covering him.
Detroit won't be able to sign a player to replace Suh, but they can sign multiple players to make the defense as a whole better. Maybe. LOL. With our front office -- we may lose Suh and decide to sign another weapon for Stafford.
