The Lions never make the playoffs, other GM's won't hold that against him. Watch him go to the Bears and end up ending Stafford's career.

I said players like Suh. A severely injured Brees with massive question marks surrounding him is not a player like Suh.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Lions are willing to let walk-year DT Ndamukong Suh reach the open market next offseason.
Per Rapoport, the Lions want an "informed" Suh to "sign a deal he’s happy with." It's a bizarre tact, one that would all but assure Suh leaves as a free agent. Players of his caliber almost never hit the market. It's possible the Lions are simply tired of the Suh experience, but he's an irreplaceable presence up front. Jul 29 - 7:35 PM.
DIV rivals will try to inflict as much damage as possible so I can see CHI doing that.
Sorry, dude. On this one I have your response above as a total fail. Brees had a shoulder, but Miami tried like hell to get him too - he was a premium FA and the Bolts let him walk. Brees' shoulder should be no more of a concern than Suh's temper and Goodell's willingness to suspend him at the drop of a hat.
This one's over, sorry.
They only have about $5mil in cap space as of now. Unless they get some restructuring done, I don't see it happening.
Teams cap space changes yearly. The Redskins signed Haynesworth to a 100 million dollar contract somehow when they were only 1 million under the cap. Guys get let go, contracts get restructured yadda, yadda, yadda...If Suh wants to play for a bad team he would have resigned already.
You don't think the Lions have thrown the house at him? This drunk staff are the masters of freeing up money with bad contracts in order to keep their stars. They don't think like fans who want to underpay this guy.
The Lions know how important he is to this team and don't want him to go. If they did they would just trade him to free up the money now. But they STILL hold out hope in the public forum that they can somehow resign him.
It's Dan Gilbert and Lebron all over again. Maybe he'll come back after winning a few SB's.
This states the Lions have tried everything to keep him. If he leaves, how can blame the Lions? Because they haven't won a Superbowl? Only one team a year does.
No Doubt the Lions offered 12 or 13 mil....Thats very respectable. But if he signs 12-13 mil say in S.F. or Seattle that's a contender move.....15-17 to go to Dallas or N.Y. is a money move........
I'll be sick to my stomach if he signs a money move say for 17 mil to stay in the division......I don't see that happening but would nevertheless make me ill.
Do you guys all think Megatron still signs his new deal if the Lions go 7-9 and miss the playoffs again instead of 10-6 a few years ago? I don't.
That fraudulent season gave us all false hope, including him. We were all wrong, obviously. Without that miracle winning season Megatron probably isn't a Lion right now.
Holy denial Batman!
Some people really don't realize when they've completely lost an argument...
