Suh will haunt the Lions for years
You just can't help but be a total chode when someone doesn't love the Lions like you do. Can't wait for you to follow Mayhew and Lewand out of Detroit since you love them so much. You'll be the biggest Sabercat fan in San Jose.
No, I said DEION SANDERS. He left after his initial contract with Atlanta. He was the best CB and hit the FA market, and he wasn't old.
Guys like Suh almost never reach the open market after their first contract.
Unless Suh starts putting up numbers like he did in his rookie year -- He isn't going to be haunting anyone but the team who signs him to a long term contract if they offer him what he is asking for.
And he did that 20 years ago. Proving my point that.......
Thanks again, bro.
This is what you originally asked. I don't know the LAST guy to do it, but Deion sure did. I don't know the rest, don't care to look. You claimed it only happens when guys are old, I showed an example that it doesn't.Who was the last guy on his level to jet from the team who drafted him the first chance he could? It happens when players get old, not when their in their prime.
Point is guys like Suh never reach free agency. That's history talking. Only the Lions are shitty enough to let this happen.
with guys like KVB, Jason Jones, Chris Houston, Glover Quin and Stephen Tulloch. Round and round we go.
Drew Brees was hurt and nothing great in Sandy Eggo. (They love drafting QBs. We took Jeff Backus instead of Brees.) And he wanted to be a Lion via FA. Millen taught Mayhew the ropes.Reggie
Deion
Bryce Paup
Shannon Sharpe
Curtis Martin
Drew Brees.
Seriously LOL at you guys thinking this staff is somehow smarter than everyone in the NFL who will be lining up to sign this guy the second he walks out our door.
Drew Brees was hurt and nothing great in Sandy Eggo.
No, your reading comprehension seems to be lacking. I said DEION SANDERS. He left after his initial contract with Atlanta. He was the best CB and hit the FA market, and he wasn't old.
I was going to type the same thing. The Saints hit the lottery when they signed Brees.
Lol- "You aren't paying attention to me."
Quote of the year so far. Puts a lot of this into perspective, hey?
no one KNOWS what Suh is asking to be paid. IF he is asking to be paid as the highest paid defensive player in the NFL -- it will be a very short line to sign him and he won't be going to one of the top teams.
as much as we love Suh -- he still plays DT and he has had trouble against the run, which is why basically every expert lists Gerald McCoy as the best DT in the NFL right now.
in the end -- you have to produce, whether you are being doubled or not. Suh has averaged a shade under 6 sacks and 40 tackles since his rookie year of 60 tackles and 10.5 sacks. i'd be standing next to you screaming the Lions need to back up the Brinks truck if Suh was putting up numbers like his rookie year. he hasn't though.
he hasn't done anything to tell me he deserves much more than Geno Atkins received. Atkins is facing the same double teams and has outproduced Suh in less games, as he tore his ACL last year.
if it gets out the Lions weren't willing to give Suh 11 or 12 million a year -- yes -- I would be utterly disgusted with our front office. if it is Suh asking for 15 or 16 million -- I show him the door, as NO defensive tackle is worth that kind of money.
