Unless Bell changes his salary demands...idk if OAK can pay this guy.

Teams can always create more space by cutting players but the reports I'm looking at...OAK has a projected $17 to $21 mil to work with as of now.

Bell has said he wants $15 mil per, need to sign a draft class...idk about that happening in OAK.

Tampa, CLE, SF, IND, DET...maybe the Jets have the cap space and the need.

We shall see.
I'd have to consult a physician if Bell became a Lion.

No way the boner would go away before four hours.

RB is becoming a fungible position - not sure any RB is worth $15M a year, not even Jim Brown in this prime.

I agree. But you may be thinking more like Belichick. I think the Steelers value the position more than the Pats do.

It’s more leaguewide. The league went a long ways without a 1st round RB at all. RB salaries haven’t raised relative to the cap in a long time. Drafting an RB top 5 is not that big a savings as you’d like. The 5th year option is pretty pricey for a RB as well.

Dead cat bounce with Zeke, Gurley, etc.

Probably - but couple that with the fact he's got a screw loose and I'm not sure even the Steelers value him that high.

I hear ya...lol

IDK...I have mixed feelings about Bell. No question he's a great talent and I'm a player guy so I want to see these guys like him cash in...if DET will give him that cash...gotta go get it.

I think more than anything...PIT wanted to keep the killer B's together until Ben is done.

If the reports are correct, they made a very strong offer imo...wasn't enough.

The salary cap is due to jump another ~$10mil this year from $167m to $174-178m... That will put the Steelers on the right side of the cap. Then there's some easy cut targets to get them over what they need for Bell & the incoming draft class. The dead weight in the DB room alone could save them $10-13mil against the cap (Mitchell, Wilcox, Gay, Sensabaugh).

They also need to make sure they have enough room to get Boswell under contract. He's a RFA that I will be closely watching this offseason.

Not worried about the money aspect for the Steelers. They always find a way. I'm just worried about how the situation will play out with the tag. Bell hasn't indicated he is going to "play ball"

We haven't had a guy rush for a 100 in three years.

And we could cut Abdullah.

Can't wait to see Marshawn Lynch's reaction to this if he actually gets signed

Can't see this happening at all. The Raiders will not invest all that money to a rb. Much easier to find a suitable player in the draft at a better price, with less mileage on his legs.
