Pick somewhere that doesn't have a backfield full of young dudes.

For his asking price he will have to go somewhere that doesn’t have young talent already contributing to a winning team.

I am entitled to go to a good team, because everyone in 2018 is just signing up for 3 yards and a cloud of dust

I just can't see L. Bell being interested in the Colts. I could be wrong about him, but I think he craves the limelight as much as the money, and Indianapolis is one of the last places I can see Bell. Maybe I'm wrong and he just wants the highest cheque....and he'd run to Saskatchewan and play for the RoughRiders if they offered him the money.

I don't see Indy forking over the kinda money Bell has been turning down anyways....

IDK just how important that is to Bell, but for all of the visiability Bell's had in PIT, his endorsement deals are not what you would expect...especially on the national level.

I really think Bell would like to be in the limelight, be on a good team, but the contract comes 1st.

If the market size is a factor, the Jets should have an inside track here. I think if the money is close (say within a mil or so total...he'd rather play with Luck than Darnold.

Report: Le'Veon Bell wants to sign with Colts
8390.jpg

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports Le'Veon Bell wants to sign with the Colts this offseason.

"He has his eyes on the Colts, no doubt about that," a source told Vacchiano. "He sees Andrew Luck and that offense and all that cap room. He wants to go someplace he can win right away." The Jets are expected to make a run at Bell, but the interest may not be mutual. With Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines both cost controlled, we don't see the Colts as a good fit for Bell, but there's going to be no shortage of suitors this offseason. Bell is targeting $17 million annually.

A 27 year old RB entering into his declining years for the position who sat out an entire season because he was pouting about the rules. Sign him to an 8M 1 year deal, that's it!

I think a little of this comes down to Bell looking at some "hot take" team too. There is no way to know for sure if Indy will actually be a contender right away. They certainly look like an up and coming team with all the pieces in play but things can change quickly in this league. I get that he is maybe looking at the Luck/ Reich combo as more appealing than the Darnold/ Bowles ( or ?) situation from the standpoint of immediate contender. I think he may be mistaken there if the Jets were to make a good hire at HC.
I'm kind of thinking the contender talk is mostly lip service though. The guy is all about himself & the money. I don't judge that but just own it and be honest. Don't try to shine everybody on with some fake altruism about love of the game and being a team guy who is all about getting a ring.

He just seems like a weird dude....but so are the 2 suitors that have jumped to the fore - I can definitely see a Jets move, whereas I cannot see a Colts move. In the end, he was at a place where football culture is king, and from what I've read, was offered a lot of money. That he turned down what Pitt was offering seemingly puts $ as his priority.

Joel Corey a cap specialist. Reports that with the way the Steelers deal was structured. And With him sitting out......

He will need a deal that guarantees him roughly 42.5-45 million over the first two years or he loses

i don't think the colts want him. they are building that roster with quick, young talent through the draft. i could see them adding some veteran pieces but i'm not sure they will be giving out huge contracts .... maybe they will though.

Hell no. Mack’s doing ok . They use Hines. They spend that money elsewhere.

Bell is trying to push himself into 2 things. A great offense, with a lot of cap room.

He knows if he goes to the others with mega cap room he’s prolly not gonna win or get his yards again

Marlon Mack is such an enigma. Neither Wilkins nor Hines are the answer at lead back. I was thinking earlier this year that Bell would make a ton of sense for them, but at this point they may be better looking at the draft if they don't want to keep rolling the dice with Mack as the main guy. My guess is Wilkins plays elsewhere next year. A guy like Josh Jacobs would be a great fit for them maybe in the 3rd.
