I was hoping to see a fight last night....Who would have thought it would have been Flo' Rida's manager that almost gave us one?

It was nice seeing Roy Hibbert head to the locker room..No handshake...That's the shit I want to see because next year the Pacers are going to beat that ass if they can find a point guard...

for a fan base that "couldn't care about Red Sox baseball" during hockey playoffs, there are some of you that are sure interested in what the Yankees are doing while your beloved Bruins are playing.

Good morning all... huge hit by that 4th outfielder last night!

declining numbers and 34 years old

25 million a year plus raping the farm system?

hell no

His numbers are BARELY declining, i read that bs article too. Dont let last year fool you, he was phenomenal and he's better this year.

I watch the guy pitch every 5th. He's not dropping off

But I agree with you, if im the sox I DONT make that move if it kills my farm. But what JD is saying is that, that is what it will take for some team

For a 35 year old making a fuckton of money?

What is the precedent for a guy like Lee fetching that kind of bounty in return? I don't see it.

The Yankees gave up a hell of a lot less for Kevin Brown...

If Boston would be willing to take on the money, he should be able to be had for much less than that...

yes...pitching is pitching...I agree he has to be devalued because of his age and contract (AKA; why JD is retarded), but Philly isn't just giving him away...

You want a comp? Last year, Sox trade...they got back 2 solid prospects plus a couple quad A types they flipped to Pittsburgh...and that included Crawford on the 60 day DL and Beckett sucking...

It would have to be more than that...

Kevin Brown was 39...HUGE difference...

A guy hitting .210 on the DL, a pitcher with a plus 5 ERA, and a minor leaguer for a Cy Young caliber pitcher...plus the Phillies would have to pay Lee's salary...

Sounds perfectly reasonable.

When you describe it like that...

If you took an objective look at it..

Of course if I just went and cherry picked a stat or two like you just did and present it like that, I could make a compelling case that the Reds would be morons not to trade Joey Votto for John Lackey...

"Hi guys.......you seen Heat anywhere?"

Dude, your obsession with me being obsessed with Heat is pathetic.

And do I need to find the thread when the sox were free falling and "nobody cared about May baseball during NHL playoffs"?

But, the Yankees manage to make the top of the page.

what's that word for it... hmm

They also need to find some deer antler spray for Danny Granger..

Yes thats the point ... and JD is not retarded on this. he realizes it will be devalued from say if he was 31, but he wouldnt be getting traded then either.

he's just saying you guys are OVER-Devaluing it

Also, dont be shocked if Lee is not moved. They have a shit ton of money coming off the books without moving anyone. IMO Paps is the guy that they will be looking to move

For the Red Sox

Cliff Lee's contract would not be that bad, considering your getting a top 5 pitcher in baseball right now

2013 - most of contract will be eaten by that point (assuming its a deadline deal)
2014 - 25
2015 - 25
2016 - 12.5 buyout

Deadline would leave about $10m for this year.....so...you're talking about paying $72m for about 2 1/2 years...

:gaah:
