So the Red Sox should sell low on Middlebrooks and Felix and shell out a ton of money for a 34 year old pitcher?
Yeah, no...
No chance Boston gives up both Middlebrooks and Felix, PLUS anything more than a low end prospect for a guy who will turn 35 this year unless Philly is picking up most of the tab...
Otherwise, they're just giving away WMB and Doubront... Makes no sense...
You see that HR by Bruce last night?
5 rows from the top. A little higher, and that thing leaves the park entirely...and easily.

I was here most of the day... Nobody said that. At least not in our thread...

I'll have to look for it today .... jetlag is killing me, was out cold at 8 last night.
Pretty sure you said it.... but you gave yourself an out with "if by chance one of the scrubs on the heat get hot"
I heard that same discussion...no chance WMB has the value today to be the centerpiece...
It would take a top prospect, I suggested WMB and Ranaudo...plus 2 more pieces....but that only works if Boston eats the whole thing...if they want Philly to absorb some of it? You can't get it done without WMB PLUS one of Bradley, Barnes, Bogaerts...plus another piece or 2...
pretty sure snoog said he "had a good feeling about the Pacers'
I dont remember any guarantees
Here we go again...

For the Red Sox
Cliff Lee's contract would not be that bad, considering your getting a top 5 pitcher in baseball right now
2013 - most of contract will be eaten by that point (assuming its a deadline deal)
2014 - 25
2015 - 25
2016 - 12.5 buyout
A guy hitting .210 on the DL, a pitcher with a plus 5 ERA, and a minor leaguer for a Cy Young caliber pitcher...plus the Phillies would have to pay Lee's salary...
Sounds perfectly reasonable.
