His numbers are BARELY declining, i read that bs article too. Dont let last year fool you, he was phenomenal and he's better this year.

I watch the guy pitch every 5th. He's not dropping off

But I agree with you, if im the sox I DONT make that move if it kills my farm. But what JD is saying is that, that is what it will take for some team

guy is still a beast, but 25 million a year for 14 and 15......no way in hell

A guy hitting .210 on the DL, a pitcher with a plus 5 ERA, and a minor leaguer for a Cy Young caliber pitcher...plus the Phillies would have to pay Lee's salary...

Sounds perfectly reasonable.

But WMB hit well in a handful of games last season....before umm, landing on the DL

And do I need to find the thread when the sox were free falling and "nobody cared about May baseball during NHL playoffs"?

But, the Yankees manage to make the top of the page.

what's that word for it... hmm

Deadline would leave about $10m for this year.....so...you're talking about paying $72m for about 2 1/2 years...

:gaah:

In essense thats the contract the phils gave Halladay. Even with what happened I dont hate that move / contract at all.

Anytime you can get a premiere pitcher to a contract of 3 or less years its not a bad deal. Even if he's only ELITE for 2 of them (in your case 1.5). Pending he only drops to very good over the last half

Yes thats the point ... and JD is not retarded on this. he realizes it will be devalued from say if he was 31, but he wouldnt be getting traded then either.

he's just saying you guys are OVER-Devaluing it

Also, dont be shocked if Lee is not moved. They have a shit ton of money coming off the books without moving anyone. IMO Paps is the guy that they will be looking to move

JD compared him to Felix, and Clayton Kershaw...

Yeah...retarded is about the perfect word in the english language to describe that...

And I agree..I don't think he'll be moved...it was just brought up conversationally in the "what would the sox be willing to give" and "what would the phillies expect back"

but it was fun watching JD get irrationally upset by the conversation the other day...

Almost thought he was going to beg to have his account deleted again...

Dude, your obsession with me being obsessed with Heat is pathetic.

Exactly.. They are playing a Hypothetical. A really pointless one because its doubtful they would just move him for Salary dump alone. Let alone the No Trade Clause he has.

They would want actual talent... That offer wouldn't get any interest if the Sox's offered it..

Yep.

And this thing about his age is ridiculous. He's fucking 34, and doesn't rely on velocity. The guy can continue being an effective pitcher for at least 4 years.

DumbDoug points have been officially replaced by DumbDown points.

In fairness - comparing Lee to Felix and Kershaw (in terms of age and future potential) is about as dumb as comparing WMB to any MLB third baseman
or
JBJ to future HOF'er Elsbury

3.5 right?

No...you don't get him for the buyout year...if you do? It's $27.5m, and then you're paying him about $90m for 3 1/2 years...

I don't see the sox eager to take on that kind of deal...not without dumping some of their own baggage (lackey perhaps?)

They also need to find some deer antler spray for Danny Granger..

They may be better off without him...Paul George will probably make another leap and Granger could just end up in the way, like Wade has looked during these playoffs...

Stephenson is also a solid starter at the 2...

The Pacers for the most part owned that series...

Man, last night's beatdown was terrible. After the second period I was actually laughing at the pathetic Penguins display .

This team is done. I just hope it's not a sweep. Well, there is always next year.

Well there goes my plan of trading Juan Francisco for Justin Verlander.

Just offer to eat BJ Upton's salary, throw in a minor leaguer that you read somewhere could be good in 3-5 years, and that deal can still be done.
