I don't get excited about recruiting until Feb, 1. Even moreso on NSD because then it becomes real.

Fun to watch, good for water cooler talk until then.

Too much happens in between now and the end of the season.

Absolutely. Just because Freddie Five Star commits before his senior season, does not mean he'll stick to it.

Awesome visual by the way. Exactly reflects my hopes being crushed, numerous times.

I like to follow it during this time of year because it's usually about the only football news going on. But as we've seen a billion times before, a lot can happen between summer and January when it comes to recruiting; some of it depends on how your team does during the season.

I'm watching the UT fanbase, right now, having fits because recruiting is going so sloooow. But they need to realize, relationships are being made, and the pressure on the good recruits will intensify greatly later.

At Texas, MB was into the habit of taking guys before their senior season, and holding them to it. CS wants to wait, keep his hand in on those he's interested in, and then really pull the trigger if the players continue to work hard during their sr year. If they coast, he's not really interested. Fans need to chill.

Written with the typical Ohio State fan bias. . . you're just hurt that Meyer didn't think of satellite camps first.
Oh, Lord. Please Tell me you think Harbs did.

On this scale, he did. But, satellite camps in general, he did not. I'd credit Franklin for that.
Wasn't this banned in the SEC because they were doing it already?

You may be right but not on the scale of what Harbaugh has done.

How do you know that scale if you didn't know the SEC was doing it first?

I just wonder how many of these "commits" he has taken will actually be around on signing day. At Stanford, he had 18 "de-commits" in 1 class (2010).

That's because he needed A-commits at Stanford. You can't get in there with Ds.

You asked the question as if you didn't know the SEC was doing it. I know the "scale" because I have followed CFB relentlessly for years, and I have not observed satellite camps offered on this scale in any conference.

Really? Perhaps you should check out that claim.
Yes, really. Stacking up a bunch of kids that few or no other schools want isn't impressive. Even your pal M&B isn't even so blindly homerific to think he's doing a good job, and he's the biggest homer on this board.

To compare Ohio State and Michigan.

Commits:
Michigan - 18
Ohio State - 16

Average Star Comparison:
Michigan - 3.12
Ohio State - 3.88

Average Star Rank:
Michigan - 28th in the country
Ohio State 1st in the country

33% of Michigan commits are 4* or better
81% of Ohio State's commits are 4* or better

Don't be surprised when Michigan is passed by USC, Clemson, UGA, Tennessee, Auburn, UCLA, Texas A&M, and Florida on NSD.

Michigan is basically recruiting on the same scale Duke is based on # of commits. I guess that's where you want to be?

I was gonna wait and see if she actually knew the facts about the recruiting class or not. Thanks for putting this up. I guess she gets an education on how it works.
