The whole " the Colts supporting cast sucks" thing would hold more weight if the Colts weren't better without Luck the last 2 years .

Outside of the year when he missed 9 games in 2015, the colts offense finished the year as a top 10 offensive team in 3 of the 4 years.

The only year since Luck came to Indy where they had a solid defense was 2014 when they finished 11th. All the other years they did not finish higher than 20th. No surprise that the one year they had a solid defense, they ended up in the AFC title game.

Luck missed one game last year so basically you're basing this on one year when he was playing through injuries that season? Real smart

Hard to win when you have a shit defense. Just ask Drew Brees.

And when exactly hasn't Luck been effective? Outside of 2015 when he played just 7 games, he's been pretty effective in pretty much all of his other seasons.
Colts have been 8-8 last two years? His backup out performed him. No other QB gets the same love. At the moment Kaep and his groupies are about the closes thing to it, but they aren't in the same zip code.

According to an NFL source, Luck sustained torn cartilage on two of his ribs and was still coping with significant pain after returning to the lineup for four games in late October and early November. The injury likely affected Luck's performance after he returned from a two-game absence that the Colts attributed to a shoulder injury. Luck, according to the source, needed pain-killing injections to play and was quite limited by the injury.

How does that change his supporting cast? That same team went 6-3 without him and 2-5 with him. His playing through injuries doesn't change the talent around him

Didn't his backup take Seattle to the SB?

His backup outperformed him because he was playing with torn cartilage in 2 of his ribs for 4 games. Good luck playing QB with cartilage tear in 2 of your ribs. The guy shouldn't have played more than 2 or 3 games in 2015 due to that and the lacerated kidney he had.

God I hope Luck miss the first 6 games this year. Can't wait to see the Colts go 1-5 or 2-4 with a pretty soft schedule with Tolzien.

You do realized he played 4 of those games with a significant injury that would have led to 95% of Qb's missing those games right. You can just evaluate his #'s in 2015 and compare it to the rest of his career and see something was wrong with him that year.

Just wondering if Luck career follows the same path going forward, well his admirers still claim he's a football god?

That's not an answer to my question . You're asserting the Colts supporting cast is awful yet that supporting cast is 2 games over .500 the last 2 years without Luck . Even if I were to believe Luck has been unfortunate to have injuries the past few years that has zero to do with how his team performed without him

Since Luck is so awful according to @rmilia1 , maybe the colts should cut him and move forward with Tolzien since Luck is the issue.

Who said he was awful? I said he was pretty decent but vasyoy overrated . He's a top 15 QB. That's not awful. He's just not elite or even very good . He's above average.

If any QB could pick 52 other players with whom to form a team, I'd say Dallas & Atlanta would be the very top of that list (at least on offense), and the Colts would be dead, friggn' last. The Browns honestly put together better talent than the Colts.

I'm dead serious when I say if Luck were smart he'd retire until the team either traded him or got a capable GM who added some decent talent because he's gonna end up in a wheelchair when he's 40 at this rate.

He doesn't want to end up like Cutler. Cutler's OL was the worst in football his first 3 or 4 year in Chicago (the Colts probably have the worst now), and he ended up being severely injury-prone.

Above average? Yeah...the guy has a 40 TD season under his belt. Last year, while being sacked more than every QB except a few, still had 31 TD's/13 ints...4200+ yds. and a 96+ rating. Those are top 10 numbers. Of the 5 seasons he's had, you can only point to one where he played poor, and it's been pointed out why...the dude went out there when he shouldn't have due to injury. Either you have an agenda against the guy, or clearly accepted that he 'should' be one of the absolute elite throwers of all time - which is just not realistic.

Oh...and for 'the Colts were better without him' stuff...take a look at what the Colts did when they put others (Hasselbeck) back there. Quick tempo, short rhythm type passing attack....which is exactly what they should be doing all the time with Luck. When AL is in the lineup, the coaching staff puts far...FAR more weight on his shoulders to carry that team - 5/7 step drops, deep vertical plays downfield - and it leads to him taking more shots and susceptible to injury. I readily admit that Luck tends to do too much....forcing passes/holding onto the ball too long....but that seems to be the culture built up in Indy.
