So, you want to ignore the numbers of the Yankees pitchers, but count the numbers from Indians Shawn Armstrong, Zach McAllister, and Nick Goody?

Armstrong pitched a total of 3.1 innings the final 2 months of the season...he hardly had an effect of the team's numbers, if any.

Between Goody and McAllister, they combined for a 1.08 ERA, and sub 1.00 WHIP and around .200 BAA in Sept....looks quite good to me and I wouldn't 'say that made the rest of the team look worse.

Who would you prefer? Tanaka started Sunday and Sevy yesterday. CC has been better than Gray. Let me guess, you want Jordan Montgomery pitching tomorrow

CC dominated the Indians for the most part in game 2. Gray got his shit lit up like a Christmas tree.

Logical Yankees fans would prefer CC over Gray.

McAllister had a 8.22 ERA in August and Goody's was 7.50. How come you didn't mention those numbers, you cherry pickin' motherfucker?

I brought up guys like Jamie Garcia and Shreve and Montgomery who were mediocre/poor down the stretch and aren't factors in the playoffs for the Yankees, so they the Yankee Aug/Sept numbers)

From 8/25 to 9/23, Jamie Garcia had an ERA of 1.17.

lolz

It wasnt the world series but they had some shit fests against Boston as well.

The 99 ALDS Win the first 2 games then promptly get destroyed in the next 3

The 07 ALCS was the same pretty much, went up 3-1 and then didnt even get close in the next 3.

I'll consider this series a pretty monumental choke if they lose, considering the events that transpired in game 2 should have been soul crushing. Only the Indians could turn that kind of momentum into 3 straight losses.

I'm not sure there's any way 97 and 2016 aren't worse than those.

The 07 Sox were big favorites.

The only reason there was a game 5 was Pedro got hurt in game 1.

Game 7 last year literally your entire team shat thier pants. Kluber and Miller were awful. Rajai Davis forgot how to play CF at all, and Chisenhall and Napoli's atrocious D cost you runs.

Oh I wasnt trying to say they were worse at all. Just bringing up other times this franchise has crapped it's pants in the last 20 or so years.

Game 6 of the world series was a botch fest as well where Naquin and Chisenhall couldnt field a routine fly ball which led to 3 runs in the first.

This franchise just can't get the choke out of their system. They always forget how to play simple baseball at the worst possible times.

For those unaware, The Q considers a deep fly ball to the ivy covered, funky right field corner of Wrigley to be a "routine play" for a guy who's played there less than a handful of time. Chisenhall played atrociously because it didn't play it clean.

If you're going to look at August, you need to realize that much of the staff wasn't great in August...it wasn't a few unimportant guys bringing the whole staff numbers down....

-Kluber: 1.96 ERA, 0.63 WHIP in Aug
-Carrasco: 4.50 ERA, 1.24 WHIP in August
-Bauer: 2.31 ERA, 1.35 WHIP in Aug (looks like he was pretty lucky given the amount of baserunners allowed)
-Salazar: 3.38 ERA, 1.41 WHIP in Aug
-Clevinger: 3.86 ERA, 1.33 WHIP in Aug

Other than Kluber, the rotation wasn't anything special in August.

And regarding the pen, if you take out McAlister and Goody, the pen in August had a 3.16 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. Good, but nothing out of this world.

Best pitching staff in the majors. 2017. Boom.

Let's not forget this one as well, while we are on Indians forgetting how to play defense in big games

To be fair, Francona should've let someone else start game 5 and let guys go on regular rest in 6 and 7 with Kluber in the pen.

Also i have no idea why no one talks about guyer misplaying rizzo's flyball in game 5.

Wow, @SlinkyRedfoot getting it from all sides. Are the Indians pressing the panic button? I still got them winning the ALDS.

BTW, Rosanna is awesome. I'd never heard it before- good call.

The ball was an easy catch. He misplayed it and thought it was going to hit high off the ball. It didn't.

He makes that catch, Indians in 5.

I'd heard it, but didn't really appreciate it until I saw a rock/honky tonk band absolutely rip it up live in Nashville probably 5-10 years ago. It's a bad ass song.

I have no idea what you people are arguing about? I always wait for @dougplayer to make his prediction on a game, before I say ANYTHING about it. (I'm guessing doug will predict that the Yankees break something off in the Indians....but I want to wait until I see it in writing!)
