yep. Can't imagine anyone was interested in him at the deadline and the Sox have a 40 man crunch coming up.

Love JBJ but it's hard to justify a 58 OPS+ outfielder no matter how good defensively they are. still been a pleasure to watch him this decade and will never forget his role in 2018.
I'm still surprised they didn’t have a fire sale, for prospects.

Bloom tried. It is the only way to explain trading Vasquez.... He pathetically over-valued the rental cost for Martinez, Eovaldi, Hernandez, Watcha, et. al. and couldn't get any other deals done. (Hosmer was simply a salary dump initiated by SD and the Red Sox needed a 1B)...

And now, they're asking Dalbec to play 2B.

Uh....

I had faith in Bloom rebuilding & shedding salary, while keeping the team competitive, but they are now a joke. Bloom appears to be out of his league.... I doubt Bogaerts will even listen to him this winter... Next year will be very different...

Sox have a payroll of over 200 million and not much to show for it- AND Bogaertes and Devers are due huge raises.

I bet Bogaerts leaves and they move Story to SS.

Eovaldi has not always been great- but he has been pretty good this year and prob. the best SP for the staff this year. I bet they let him walk too.

Boston's SP next year looks like its going to be a mess unless Sale actually gets healthy and they make a big trade or signing or two. Especially if Pivetta's early success was a mirage.

Am I mistaken or where Houck and Whitlock starting candidates at some point?

Yea, it's a little disappointing they couldn't turn Eovaldi or JD into anything. I think Eovaldi's recent injury also hampered that. Same with Wacha and Kiké.

At this point, I wouldn't trust Sale opening a bag of popcorn.

They'll have to run Sale out there next year... Pivetta is a fine 4 or 5... I like Crawford. They'll give Houck, Whitlock, & Bello another shot. They'll probably bring in a few more washed up vets (is Paxton still around?).... Eovaldi will get a better deal elsewhere.

Bogaerts will be gone, and Devers after next year.... They better hope their prospects pan out .. it'll be a sad couple years in beantown.

dont worry sox are saved:suds:

Red Sox signed RHP Jeurys Familia to a minor league contract.

Familia has found a new home with the Red Sox -- or rather with their Triple-A affiliate in Worcester -- after getting released by the Phillies on Saturday. The former Mets closer had struggled to a 6.09 ERA, 1.85 WHIP, and 33/15 K/BB ratio through 34 innings this season with Philadelphia.

bloom will resign him next year

Blue Jays signed OF Jackie Bradley Jr. to a one-year contract.

The deal is now official. Bradley Jr. has joined the Blue Jays in Baltimore and will likely make his Toronto debut on Tuesday evening. The 32-year-old veteran provides the club with some extra center field depth while George Springer is on the injured list and should help their late-season playoff push with his trademark outfield

Left in the uncomfortable position of rooting for New York

If the Yankees win, the Orioles would technically be the 3rd wildcard team on freaking 08/09.

That is mindboggling. They were supposed to be 25 games out of it by now.

This team is somehow doing it with a 35 million dollar payroll and ownership that keeps trading away anyone even remotely valuable.

I'm at the point I'm rooting for all ALE teams, as I'd love to see them all over 500 at seasons end.

Need the Sox to get to 82-80. That will be difficult.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he sucks and never cracks the major league roster.
