Sox relievers not named Kimbrel don't inspire a lot of confidence. Barnes doesn't have the greatest command, Hembree is too hittable, the list goes on. I'm glad Workman's back, he's looked pretty solid so far.

hate it
What?! Why? Do you see what we gave up to get him?
3 of their best prospects
Best pitching prospect, probably the best OF prospect, and a red hot Matteo, who has always been a big prospoect for them
Kaprielian just had tommy john surgery, a red hot Mateo? In the last 10 games he's .167 with 6 hits and a HR and Fowler is on the 60 day DL. We needed someone to help us win now. Our farm system is deep. We will be okay.
They loved kaperlin, thats the big blow for me, he is expected back next season, like every other pitcher that returns from TJ....I just heard Matteo was red hot since his promotion, so maybe that was overall, and not so much his last few.....And again, they loved Fowler, and Im not sure thats a career injury
This just sounds to me like a Chris Sale type offer, and not a decent #2 or 3 starter package
This is a let's win now deal. This isn't a deal for the future. With that being said, the future still looks bright with our farm system. I'm sure the organization loved Kaperielian but there's no telling how he's gonna be after the surgery. Mateo is hitting .300 since the promotion but the last 2 weeks have been rough. And yeah Fowler's injury isn't a career ender but it's the same with Kapierlian. You never know if that's gonna affect his future play.
Time will tell, maybe its just the guy we got that doesnt excite me as much as you, but I hope youre right
