Even as a dh, Buxton needs every third day off? I'm done with him.

with McKenzie being hurt- the Guardians are in real trouble. Quintrell has been hurt- maybe he has taken a step back from being a solid back end starter, maybe not. Bieber may get dealt.

Might be the time to deal Bieber, and get whatever you can for Rosario and usher in the re-make.

I will say--- that Clevinger deal was so good. Naylor, Quintrell and Arias are all still with the Guardians and Naylor has been great this year. They also got Hedges and OWen Miller- Miller who has been playing pretty well on MIL- and HEdges sucked at hitting but was a great defender and leader last year.

Bieber is not gonna get them what he could have a year or two ago--- but if he can get something just similar to Clevinger- they should do well in the deal.

didn't they just pay him a shitload?

Buxton got a 100 million dollar contract, but it is over 7 years. A player with his talent never signs for that low unless there are flaws. In this case, he can't stay healthy.

I never would have given that deal to him knowing that he was going to only be a DH. A big part of his value is that he's an elite defensive CF. If they can't trust him to not be out there at all, then they bought a lemon and decided to keep investing in it.

You don't see former gold glove center fielders play DH at 29 often lol

AJ Preller was out of his mind that year. He gave up a similar haul to the Mariners at that time for Austin Nola.

Moran floated a belt high changeup to the Red Sox best hitter. That is on him. Pablo didn't pitch great, but is on the hook for the lefty fucking up.

Pablo allowed the bottom of the order to eat him alive and has now issued 38% of his walks to 8/9 hitters. Dude absolutely shrivels up every start.

Moran?? Thats on Favley...again. Only a complete fucking idiot would have our only lefty option be a guy who you know within 3 pitches if hes got it today or not...spoiler alert his first 3 pitches were clear balls.

Its comical how this team is run

He is, but its still not the crazy deal people think.

Lopez has to figure his shit out but hes at least a pitcher with some sort of track record and legit top of rotation stuff. Arraez is a horrendous fielder, basically didnt have a position in Minny. And due to his lack of power he has to hit close to his .400 now to have a slugging% that can even reach .500.

Our offense is so bad at putting the ball in play hed clearly help now. But there was sound reasoning, with him having no position and us having lot of options.

Look at Marlins now, they are looking for deadline defense help because they moved Chisolm(good defensively at 2B) to the OF so Arraez could play 2B. Now they have below average defenders at two spots. Both being pretty key spots too.

I forgot they also got Joey Cantillo in that trade who is a pretty decent SP prospect---- definitely not a top guy- but pretty good.

tomorrow is Gavin Williams day! making his debut.....

Williams, Bibee, Allen def. the future of the Guardians. 3 guys should be in the rotation for a long time- or until they have a year or two left on their deals and are dealt for prospects in a never-ending cycle of immediate despair, but long term validation.

right.....I mean if Lopez re-signs and is a long term #2 or so- its a good deal.

It is a shame they lost Mahle. Gray, Ryan, Lopez, Mahle, Ober is a helluva rotation, even if it doesnt have a classic "ace".

Lopez already resigned. He did after his elite 4 starts to begin the year then he tanked haha. I think he will figure it out.

Mahle was a negligent trade. They literally just didnt look at the medicals. Unreal. We still have Paddack at some point but who knows with him as well.
