White Sox grab their Crochet replacement and the Royals grab the two-way player. All these guys could be ready in a year.

I don’t think the draft is deep but the top of the draft is insane

Not sure on the Sox guys readiness. They don't even know if he's a starter or reliever yet due to his innings

He is likely more development. I meant moreso the top 4-5 hitters.

nice job by the Guardians

Doughty- the pitcher they took was the #27 guy on Fangraphs....the catcher at 48 was also quite a bit higher ranked then when he was taken.

They already announced they know the # for Bazzana - so they obv. had extra money to burn later on. Will be interesting to see how this class turns out a few years from now--- seems like they have done a decent job stocking up- and maybe giving themselves some extra room to trade their current minor leaguers.

I just dont want a big overpay.....I can see Juan Brito being dealt now with Bazzana---- but I really dont want to give up DeLatuer, Manzardo or Chourio. They have a good group of position player prospects- and will hopefully restock the pitching a little more in the draft

Gaving looks like he is getting it going-- Lively looked really good his last time out- Bibee is solid.......I would say there is no overwhelming urgency to make a deal--

we shall see........Brennan will be back too after the break.

Do you guys think the plan/consensus is to move Andres Gimenez to SS and Bazzana at 2B? or Bazzana in the outfield?

Will be interesting to see.

Bazzana is just the poster boy for what the Guardians look for--- great contact hitting, bat, amazing makeup and character

honestly- i think one of the best comps is a former Alumni that he just missed playing with- Steven Kwan--- little less hit maybe and a little more power--- great character, great makeup and work ethic.

I wonder if Angel Martinez or Freeman will be included in a trade a deadline. It seems like if they want a SP teams might want Martinez or Noel. I wouldn’t give up either so maybe Brito + some other prospects is the package

It’s either Gimenez to SS or Bazzana is an OF. Bazzana doesn’t have the arm talent for SS imo. Gimenez has played short plenty but it is difficult to move away from a platinum gold glover at 2B. I do think Bazzana can be a gold glover too though

Guardians Twitter might riot if Martinez is. They already want to give him 10 years 400 million.

i told my dad that if the Guardians make a trade a lot of teams asked for Martinez and he acted like Martinez was untouchable.

Guy has played really well and has looked a lot better than Rocchio. I hate to give up on Rocchio though.

Martinez has been so impressive. The game looks slower for him more than most young guys.

IF you can get Crochet for him and some other guys- I would have to think about it though- esp. with Crochet's control.

If the Guardians could get Crochet and add him to Bibee and Williams for the next couple years- they would be in very good shape.

They have to priortize getting Naylor and Kwan signed up for the long long term though. Where they are at- they cant take a step back. Get this team signed up and give them a 3-4 year window.

Guardians sign Bazzana to 8.95 M bonus- less than Burns and Condon---- and draft a shit load of good high school arms to spread the extra bonus money around on

many of the pitchers they took wont be ready for the majors for years--- but the Guardians pulled off a master class in this draft.

Hopefully with Cleveland's propensity to develop pitching they just restocked the farm system with assets to be traded or pitching for years to come.

Bazzana should immediately slide in as the Guardians’ No. 1 or No. 2 prospect (depending on how one feels about touted young outfielder Chase DeLauter). By landing him at a bonus that was lower than slot and lower than the previous record, Cleveland also saved some cash that should prove helpful in trying to sign high-profile high school picks that the Guards selected in the later rounds. Left-hander Joey Oakie was widely considered a top-50 prospect and Day 1 talent but landed with Cleveland at the No. 84 pick on Day 2. Seventh-round right-hander Cameron Sullivan and tenth-round righty Chase Mobley were generally ranked in the Top 125 prospects in this year’s class. Bazzana’s price tag and the money saved could allow the Guardians to come away with an impressive collection of names if all of those lauded prep players eventually sign.

add in Bryan Doughty- who went with their supplemental 1st round pick- and the Guardians drafted 4 right handed high school pitchers that were all highly regarded

add Bazzana and highy rated catcher with their 2nd round pick and it could be a very good draft.

who really knows with baseball though- hopefully they sign all 4 of those pitchers. Basically getting 6 of the top 125 prospects or so certainly gives them a chance.

The Royals did look good this weekend, and Lugo pitched a great game today, complete game, but they were playing probably MLB’s worst team.

Definitely true of the White Sox, but they all count and everyone else in the division gets to play them too. The Angels and A’s are in the west yet the Astros and and M’s have been in their own dick tripping contest until recently with the Astros getting their shit together. Rangers have been very mid. The Royals have a nice run differential, not exactly like they are playing on fumes like the M’s.

The Royals have been impressive this year - I like what they have.
