Steelers have put up with some absolute head games from WR's (many teams have) to trade him off now tells you pretty much what I've said about Sanders: Teams will put up with a lot of bullshit when you are ELITE. When you are not viewed as ELITE, they are not as willing to let things slide.
Pickens, for sure, is a talented dude...but has been far from ELITE...Interesting move, but one I can understand. He goes to a place that simply DNGAF about what a player thinks of their contract....so...good trade.

I've always supported trading him because I want to punt this season away. But also because they were never going to pay him what he wanted. Just wish they would have put a better plan in place to make him more expendable. Because they are once again, finding themselves with a broken WR room this late in the offseason with no solutions in sight. I'm sure they'll be in the rumor mill for trades around training camps yet again. Since that worked out so well for them last offseason.

I know you and I have been on this path for a while now. I said the same thing last year...it was time to simply punt and restock through draft picks (via trading players/assets). Browns, in all honesty, should have been doing the same thing...they even went got a draft HAUL this year...and still found ways to F'it up.

Yeah I mean Pickett is a huge upgrade from DTR. DTR should not be in the NFL. Period.
I get wanting a decent backup but they had to know going into the draft they had a QB target. In the end, it's a 5th. They also drafted Shedeur with a 5th. I could get my panties in a wad but it's not worth in the end...Pickett will compete in camp. They better get a 6th for him if they trade him though. Like others said, Flacco is guaranteed for like $3-4M...I would be extremely surprised if he is cut
