For me here are the contenders.
Steelers
Going with Rivera over Sims/Jones even though both were go awful.
Ziggy Hood 2009 1st pick 32
Jeremy Staat 1998 2nd pick 41
Aaron Jones 1988 1st pick 18
Darryl Sims 1985 1st pick 20
Gabe Rivera 1983 1st pick 21 - car accident while drunk paralyzed him.
Willy Fry 1978 2nd pick 49 - never played and was hurt. they tried to trade him and it was voided

I am going to include Huey Richardson at LB even though he could win both.

Browns:
Going with Brown due to the draft location and the hype. But Cleveland Pittsburgh Crosby deserves an honorable mention not only for his name but he wasn't good.
Nate Orchard 2015 2nd pick 51
Phil Taylor 2011 1st pick 21
Courtney Brown 2000 1st pick 1
Gerard Warren 2001 1st pick 3
Keith Baldwin 1982 2nd pick 31
Cleveland Pittsburgh Crosby 1980 2nd pick 54

Bengals
Going with Koch as he was released after his rookie year. NOTE: look him up he looks better today than when he played!
Margus Hunt 2013 2nd pick 53
Dan Wilkinson 1994 1st pick 1
John Copeland 1993 1st pick 5
Lamar Rogers 1991 2nd pick 52
Jason Buck 1987 1st pick 17
Pete Koch 1984 1st pick 16
Emanual Weaver 1982 2nd pick 54
Glen Collins 1982 2nd pick 26

Ravens
Picking Terrence Cody as he just did not produce anything during his career.

Kamalia Correa 2016 2nd pick 42
Timmy Jernigan 2014 2nd pick 48
Terrence Cody 2010 2nd pick 57

It comes down to Rivera and Brown for me as both are "what could have been" type busts. But taking Brown due to be first overall pick with the hype.

Huey Richardson only played LB from what I recall? Think they tried him at DL but didn’t materialize before they moved him to ILB, then to OLB.

Terrence Cody would have been an easy pick if he was a 1st rounder… because he was such a POS both on & off the field. Mountain of a man but a simpleton.

That was my thought on Cody also. Could have been an easy winner if picked sooner. As for Richardson there was that whole misplaced position crap that he blamed the Steelers on why he sucked. In reality he just sucked.

In this whole exercise what I am discovering is how well overall the Ravens have drafted!
For their short history yeah.

But we're also looking at some guys who were picked way back in the 70's And they just don't have the history.

True it is all relative but for their short history they have very few misses.

Just for the Browns I'd go with Warren as his issues were just either lazy, dumb or not that good. Brown had injury issues not under his control. But Warren did play longer with better numbers. Think it's one of them or Copeland based on where picked/production.

My vote goes to Warren.....worse was most in FO wanted Seymour but Butch Davis went against everyone.

I'm going to solidify my vote for Darryl Sims.

Reiterating... dude was released after just 2 seasons and never started a single game after being drafted in the 1st Rd @20th overall. Played in 16 games his rookie season but never started nor did he make any relevant impact. More of the same his 2nd year with ZERO starts. Browns picked him up and he lasted 2 more seasons with them, getting 10 starts out of 26 games, but failed to do anything of merit.

Drafted too late to be included IMO (round 3) but honorable mention goes to Chad Thomas. Guy was out of the league after 1st season and Ego Boy (Dorsey) kept him over Ogbah and Nassib.

Difference between him and Carter though, Pollack broke his neck and retired, he didn't continue to try and play, continue to get hurt, continue to have a terrible career. He just ended it. I would call that a single injury that ended the career rather abruptly and permanent.
I think that's probably fair. There are injuries, and then there are INJURIES...
