Actually I felt the exact opposite. Baker fits the system and having two great guards is what they need going forward. Baker isn't going anywhere, if he did it would surprise the shit out of me.

It's not a coincidence they signed their two OG's right after OBJ leaves.

No it won't bc this is what Berry planned from the start. He wanted to build the OL. He got two RB's on team-friendly deals. OBJ gone, Landry will probably be gone next year OR they will restructure his contract. The cap is going to take a serious jump and the Browns will have plenty of money to sign Baker and Ward.

"Berry and the Browns still have over $20 million in cap space available for 2021, the fourth-most in the league. But that ranking drops to 25th for 2022, and the Browns have several key players — Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward — who will be looking for big contract extensions.

The record-setting bump of over $25 million added to the 2022 cap for all teams gives the Browns a lot more room to operate. Cleveland can also rollover any of the excess cap figure it holds in 2021 to create even more space."
Chubb’s deal still surprises me.

We shall see. I’m curious if Ward will be able to make his deal easier to digest. Missing 4-5 games a season makes it a tougher call than it should be. He’s a top 5 CB when healthy

Ward is the big one. I doubt they get even a minor discount on his deal. DB’s get paid

That is a very good question.

Sometimes it's more about when you play a team than who the team is....plus the NFC north as a whole is not a good division, so that helps.

I don't think I've ever seen a team play another team in back to back games that didn't involve the playoffs. The Browns play the Ravens then get a bye, then the Ravens again....that is very odd... I saw that when I was trying to get a feel for playoff teams and that just seemed very odd

How does this division have three winning teams?
Great question, and all these teams are mind-numbing.

Ravens - Crush the Chargers, lose to the Dolphins
Bengals - Crush the Ravens/Steelers, lose to the Jets and get destroyed by the Browns.
Browns - Crush the Bengals, and essentially lose to all other good teams.
Steelers - Beat the Bills (NOTE: they don't crush teams), and tie the freaking Lions.

Honestly, with exception to the Browns, these teams are right on par with where we thought they'd be before the season started. Ravens suffering a ton of injuries and still being this competitive is surprising as well. But you had to know they weren't going to keep pace. I really liked the Bengals this year prior to the season starting, and their first couple games confirmed that their defense was indeed for real.

As for the Browns... They still have time to resurrect their season, but they are struggling with consistency like the rest of the division. With that roster it is surprising to see them struggle, even with all their injuries they've been dealing with through October. Mishandling & cutting OBJ was a black eye. If nothing else they are learning that Baker isn't the guy. But the fear of their previous 15-20-some-odd-years might drive them to writing that check.... Baker is serviceable but really struggles to elevate his play when they need him the most.

I'll be very disappointed if my team gives Mayfield a big contract in the off season. I don't think he's worth it.

Baker for Mason....lets do it. :D

I can see it now.....Myles Garrett comes in from the crowd. Stares down Mason while holding a chair. Baker turns around and starts cheering up the crowd and then bam chair shot to the head of Baker. That would be some Hulk Hogan NWO swerve right there....

Unless he rallies and turns his season around I would have to agree. Too many inconsistencies & falling short for someone that was drafted #1 overall.

He's a Kirk Cousins type QB... Someone that you can easily fool yourself into believing is the right guy. You may think a different system & org structure could bring out the best in him, only to be let down time & time again.

Dude. Ill take him in pgh in a heart beat.
Given the current state of things, sure lol.

But this offseason I want no part in the "Baker Sweepstakes". He'll get overpaid by whomever lands him. Maybe in another 2-3 years after another team gives up on him he may be easier to acquire lol.
