Latest Trade offer

Pelicans gets

Lonzo Ball
Kyle Kuzma
Brandon Ingram
Lance Stephenson
Michael Beasely
Rajon Rondo
Two future draft picks(upgrading this to 4 first and second round draft picks)

And yet The Pelicans think they can do better this summer

Lakers gets

Anthony Davis
Solomon Hill

The Lakers will then waive Solomon Hill and stretch his salary - which will mean they will have 9 million on the books for the next three years. 67 m project - less the current Lakers to given up - of 18 m and add Davis at 27 m and one third of Hill's 4 million makes a net gain of around 80 m on the books Unless the Lakers can hang onto Hill and trade him as an expiring contract.

And Lavar Ball is now yapping and is saying that he does not want his son in New Orleans and wants Ball to go to Phoenix and will speak it into existence.

this is just nuts. they want a “ historic haul”

been fun but let him walk after next season for nothing. maybe not to the lakers. that’s what happens when you have outrageous demands.

Anthony Davis has already given the Pelicans two other names of teams he will consider. The Lakers is not the only option he is open too. Wait until this summer or next year - and he will be gone for good - That's not to say the Lakers have no other options, but most of the Lakers championship teams started and ended with a big man in the center - Wilt, Kareem, Shaq and Gasol

And yes, the Lakers are wanting a kings ransom - because they know that in spite of what they are getting back - the Lakers will be running to the finals next year once they get that third marquee player signed

No offense... but y'all sound crazy.

The Pel's will almost certainly get a better haul this offseason... and it is almost certainly not the case that Davis will "walk for nothing" if the Pel's merely wait until the summer.

Hard truth: the Lakers package isn't that thrilling. It's some mediocre picks and a host of players that together don't make a very compelling team.

How is it outrageous? The Pels were not interested in trading him, then he basically put a gun to their head saying he will only re-sign with the Lakers. I hope they trade him to anyone except the Lakers. It is almost as if the Lakers are in the Major Leagues and the rest of the league is their Minor League clubs. F the Lakers and their fans that think the sun rises and sets on that franchise, that think the NBA should revolve around them.

Supposedly it was 4 total teams. Knicks, who just sent their best tradeable asset away, Clippers who maybe, and Bucks who would be interesting.

Which hopefully if the others show interest will drum up some help. Then the question becomes how much Davis pushes his FO to make the move sooner rather than later.

Those other teams don't have assets to match that Lakers offer:

The Knicks' offer with Porzingis was rejected, and now DSJ can't be moved until the summer. Their offer would have to include that expected top pick (and more) along with the Knicks' young talent, leaving them essentially with just AD.

What can the Bucks offer that won't affect their postseason chances? I'm not even sure how to start putting together an offer from them.

Clippers? Their 1st rounder is lottery protected, so a late lottery pick at best (or to Celtics). SG-A is a decent piece, but the next best piece (Harris) will be a free agent). Tough to put a package together with much team control to make sense for AD.

We'll see how good the offers are this summer if AD doesn't extend his list to include the Celtics. That best offer might come from the Knicks.

I'm about done with Pels personally. If they're going to keep moving the goal posts on a supposed request, they can wait and see if they get quality offers this summer. They very well could get less, depending on who's on that list and who's willing to mortgage their roster.

So, the Lakers low-balled and the Pels high-balled.
I can't believe this is how teams do business....

Reports have indicated that Boston is not cowed by the attempts of Klutch to manipulate this scenario... they plan to actively pursue AD regardless.

Well I mean the picks the Lakers will have at that spot if they get AD are dice rolls anyway

So what is the likely ceiling for the Pelicans if they make the trade for Kuzma, Ball, Ingram, Zubac and some picks? 45 wins?

IMO, the Celtics and the Knicks will both be able to offer better packages because their ceilings will be considerably higher. At least the Knicks will be able to offer a better package if they get a top 3 draft pick.

Ingram and Kuzma have the potential to be better, but quite frankly - I think the Lakers let the wrong one go - Julius Randle is the one they should have signed and kept, but either way If they make that trade they end up with LeBron and Davis in the line up - perhaps Rondo and KCP and it's quite possible that the Lakers will trade KCP or some one to the Bulls for Jabari Pick up - that would be a good trade for the Lakers. They can pick up the team option this summer or let him go - nothing to lose

I digressed, however - I say the trade is good one and the young core can be replaced -

Randle and trading DLo definitely hurt.

IF they wait to the summer there will be better offers the Lakers have no way of trumping. Why do you think they are offering every player they have? LOL

If I'm the Knicks id first take a shot at other max free agents and keep Zion or Barett

Lakers have done pretty well with those dice rolls of late (Kuzma #27, Hart #30, Zubac #32). You could include Thomas Bryant, who has really improved this year for the Wizards, drafted #42 overall). Maybe the Pels should wait and let the Lakers make that pick for them lol.

It's funny how everyone values young players once they leave the Lakers. I'm seeing a trend here and it's not very objective.

Ainge will low ball the Pelicans if there's no real competition. They will end up with less.
