Darnold has a below 60 comp %, almost as many INT's as TDs and his QB rating is below 80, nothing there looks too promising, this is a backup and cheap.

The problem country is he had to work with what he could get. No one thinks Garoppolo is good and sadly San Fran was one wide open receiver missed by Garoppolo from winning the Super Bowl. Kyle also helped get Atlanta there and they haven't been close since. But like I said you can't fix stoopid.

Kyle's probably 2 plays away from having 2 Super Bowl rings. First being when Atlanta's rookie RB failed to pick up Hightower on a blitz and Hightower strip sacked Matt Ryan. A Falcons WR was breaking wide open for a TD on that play and that's who Ryan was looking for. The WR was an ex-Redskin I believe I can't remember his name though.

The second being when Jimmy G terribly overthrew a wide open Emmanuel Sanders. I agree with you though. The 9res defense and their running game is what made the 9ers go that year not Jimmy G. He wasn't very good at all in the playoffs that year.

The Jets were by every measure a sorry sorry ass team in pretty much every area. I can't say I'm very high on Darnold, but the Skins can't go into the season with only Allen n Hienicke at QB. I still want them to try n trade for Watson, but that looks more n more unlikely.

The issue with Darnold is if the 3 teams, Skins, Bears n 9ers, are all truly interested in Darnold and quite frankly all 3 need a better option at QB. That might set off a bidding war. If so, I hope we bow out early. The only worse than acquiring a crappy QB. Is way overvaluing and then acquiring a crappy QB.

Who knows though. Maybe Darnold just needs a change of scenery.

Thanks for detailing that better than I did Breed. There was never an argument about San Fran's D, but as HC Shanahan was responsible for both. Too often some fans see someone not succeed here and decided they suck. JMO but Shanahan is one of the better HC's in the league.
