May not be as bad as i thought. I now would do it for a 3rd. I was reading a mock draft on nfl.com and perhaps on another team with more talent, he could pull off a Ryan Tanehill type transformation. Also the previous year he swept the NFC EAST. And he has played well against some of the better NFC teams too. 3rd and 5th are my max offers.
If thats not good enough, oh well. Back to Original plan of FA,cuts or draft

He is the best young QB on the market. It might take a first to get him.

Actually, Watson is the best young QB on the market.

Carr is probably number 2.

Marriotta is 3.

I forgot about Wentz who is number 2.

You are right though...it may take a first to get Darnold. It doesn’t mean it is smart. It is likely pretty stupid.

We cant get Watson. Raiders said no to trading Carr. Wentz will never get traded here. Are you saying you rather have Marriotta over Darnold?

I'd have to agree that if WFT gave up a 1st for Darnold, that would be stupid.
(This was just a joke if we win the division and a playoff game with him as a starter)

One thing i'm very very excited about is teams always reach on players that are combine warriors and not a fit for their scheme.
That should push a few surprises our way

We can get Watson. The question is would it be worth it to give up the required trade package.

Just like the question is should we give up enough for Darnold. If the price is a first...hell no.

keep in mind either guy would have to "win" the job. Riverboat likely had no choice but to give Haskins the starting job, but no matter who he acquires....unless its Dak or DeShaun, they will have to beat out Alex or TH.
Its frustrating that Alex plays a boring game, and has the injury issue....i would be excited for him next year...if these two things weren't an issue

Darnold for a 1

or Marriott for a 5?
Wow! Good question. I would pass on both scenarios. However, if I had to choose I'd take Marriota for a 5th. I don't think the Raiders trade MM for a 5th though. To your point, under no circumstances am I trading 19 for Sam.

At this point I'm all in on Dak.

i would absolutely die.....if we landed Dakota. He knew what he was doing when he followed the team page on social media.
Dallas has had loaded rosters and continues to find a way to choke, i still have to believe, we will either land an elite QB thru trade or
give our guys a shot

The Cowboys not including Dak in their 2021 promo video was a direct response to him following us on IG. I'll admit, very childish and millennial, but there is real friction there.

maybe it costs less for Darnold. We can not get Watson. Unless players are involved for the trade. We dont have the draft capital.

I don't want to be media fodder, save that for another team. If Watson doesn't make a deep playoff run on a new team, the team looks stupid for giving up so much, and then Watson suddenly becomes overrated. Its a lose lose, except for Houston lol

I am not saying I want Watson at the cost, but you stated we could not get him. Now you admit we can. It was always going to cost players.

like I said, 19 for Darnold is stupid...it doesn’t mean a team won’t do it. I would give up a 3rd at most.

They may trade him for a 2nd and not a 1st but I seriously doubt they do it for a 3rd.

Lot of teams need a QB and a 2nd isn't a lot to ask for given his age.....the Jets may go for a 1st if Bill thinks he can plug and play him. Or the Colts. Or Bears. You get the idea.
