That is also true, but you have to look at the protection (or lack thereof) that Miggy now has in the lineup. No matter how well Castellanos does, teams are going to avoid Miggy like the plague and make V-Mart beat them.

With Fielder behind him, Miggy received 18 fewer IBB's over the last two seasons. V-Mart does not possess the power potential Fielder does. If I walk Miggy with nobody on, he is not scoring from 1st base on a typical double from V-Mart. Fielder is in scoring position when he gets in the batter's box.

This has nothing to do with "who wins" the trade in the long run. The Tigers are a weaker lineup right now than they were 2 days ago. If anything happens to V-Mart what do they do? They already have a soon to be 39 yr old Hunter in RF. Peralta is also likely gone, and replaced with the all-glove, no hit Iglesias.

Where does Kinsler bat? Does he take over leadoff and A-Jax goes to the bottom? Does he go to #5?
