@StanMarsh51 crying over being called an asshole and labeling that as a personal attack is one of the lamest things I have ever seen on here. Lost a little respect for you after reading that.

The whole point of this was pointing out how bad his logic is..not crying at all.

If you were following along....I claimed that homers always resort to personal attacks when they have nothing else, and he's claiming that I made a personal attack first (which I didn't). That's all that happened, as I'm merely stating it's something that homers do when someone doesn't think their hero/team is the greatest thing ever.

When I asked him what personal attack I made, he brought up a post where I basically said his argument was weak (he thinks that was a personal attack).

Santana 6'2 175 34

Enjoyed the conversation... :suds:

Translation: I'm not going to answer the question because answering truthfully kills any argument I had.

No apology necessary. He needs three more full seasons before he qualifies for the Hall. At that point, if his name does not surface in these types of discussions, then he will be owed an apology.

He only needs to play one game next season to qualify for the Hall, no?

You call that a personal attack?

Still waiting for you to admit that Ervin Santana's 2017 was dominant, since it was just as good as Morris' 1986...

Santana 2017 - 3.28 ERA, 135 ERA+, 1.13 WHIP, 2.74 K/BB, .225 BAA, .678 OPS against
Morris 1986 --- 3.27 ERA, 127 ERA+, 1.17 WHIP, 2.72 K/BB, .229 BAA, .690 OPS against

Santana shit the bed with a 3-0 lead in a WC game...immediately.

Fuck that guy

Good question. I honestly don't know. Does a player simply have to have had statistics in 10 Major league seasons or does he have to show the equivalent of 10 full seasons on an MLB roster.

Greinke HOF?

I think he's an easy yes. Pretty durable for his era (over 2700 IP and has been in the top 10 in IP six times, 8 seasons with 200+), strong career numbers (ERA, ERA+, WHIP, K/BB, WAR), a lot of very good/great seasons (eight times he finished in top 10 in WAR and ERA+) with two all-time great years (2009 and 2015). Also a damn good hitter for a pitcher (.223/.263/.331, 59 OPS+, with 27 doubles and 8 home runs in 570 PA)

I'm fairly certain it's the former.

But he’s the catcher...I wouldn’t call him a power hitter but he is good at getting timely hits.
Definitely not a power hitter aside from 2012 and maybe a few other years. He was still a damn good hitter for a catcher in his peak (he did have a 114 OPS+ from 2011-16, 130 from 2011-13), but he's also had some years where he was pedestrian and some years (early career primarily) where he was lousy offensively even by catcher standards.

he has a much better case than I would have thought he did though.

Joe Carter and Darryl Strawberry should get in, too.

Well ya, any player who made an impact for just 1 year or is a random WS MVP deserves it more than Harold Baines.

Joe Carter would probably be the worst HOF selection of all-time

This is pretty much where I sit with him. And he passes the sniff test as well (I always viewed him as one of the elites while he was active).
