here are my 3 questions

1. for the players previously caught taking steroids, is this a different occurance??

2. Does possesion of the drugs automatically mean the player took the drugs

3. Should possesion be penalized equally as actually taking the drugs??

Not sure about your first question but

These days, the commissioner's office is empowered by baseball's Joint Drug Agreement to suspend players without a positive test. All it needs is proof that they used a banned PED, or possessed one, or did business with someone like Bosch and then lied about it when confronted.

So if baseball does make a deal with this guy, it had better hope he kept a few receipts. "Proof," after all, is a fundamental concept of truth, justice and the American way. Which means it is not to be taken lightly.

I think TJ. Quinn said they can't void his contract regarding this on OTL yesterday. There isn't anything in AFRAUD'S contract that says anything about being able to void it if he's caught using PED'S. I think the same goes for everybody else on the list as well.

If the Yankees can find a loophole they will.

I don't think the guys who've already been suspended 50 games will get more unless there's evidence of recent use, but that's just me.

I think any player who's caught twice should be banned for life. They've already been given 2 chances. Which is more than enough.

A while back, they were talking about a moral clause.... It wouldn't be about taking PEDs, it would be about lying... And, they said that they were exploring all options (ie: looking for loop-holes)... But this was a while back, when his name first came out....

Melby Cabrera is in for some major abuse in the outfield the rest of his career.

Melky Cabrera was suspended for the use of performance-enhancing drugs in 2012 and lost about a third of his salary, or about $1.8 million of the $6 million that he made. Then, when he went into free agency, he signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.

According to "Outside The Lines," Cabrera now faces a 100-game suspension, meaning that he could lose about $4.4 million in salary. So in the end, Melky Cabrera could be busted twice in two years -- and still walk away with $15.8 million for his work in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

And if you believe the rumor mill, Braun and A-Rod might not even be the biggest names on that list. But we're getting way ahead of ourselves on that front

From the espn story.

Without getting into who is better blah blah blah, Just how many players have a bigger 'name' than Arod?

Lets see

Jeter
Rivera
Ortiz

Am I missing anyone?

I don't know about "bigger name", but i'd add Cano and Bautista to that list.

That's a good point. How come ONLY baseball players are on this list? Is this guy saying that he does not do biz with NFL or NBA players?

If voiding Arod's contract was as easy as people seem to think it is then the Yankees would have done it a long time ago. Aint happenin'

You realize there are big names that don't play for the Spanks or Sox, right?

What?

Not according to ESPN?

Oh, OK...

Carry on...

Seriously, though...

Just brainstorming here. I am not saying any of these guys actually use...

Hamilton
Pujols
Posey
Kershaw
King Felix
Harper
Trout
Machado
Price
Howard
Upton (X2)
HanRam
Stanton (dude is a rock and he has proximity)
Reyes
Wright

etc
etc
etc

I'll give you pooholes.

IF 'bigger name' = better player then ok, its a long list now.

IF 'bigger name' means more fame/name recognition, its a really small list inside baseball.

It would be funny if Labron and Dwade got pulled into this.

Have you noticed a gorwing divide between players who juice and their innocent teammates? This might be one reason why.

Founder of the Miami PED clinic was forced into spelling the beans. If MLB is serious about cleaning up their act about steroids maybe they should offer a huge reward for substantial information on PED usage by both Major League nad Minor League players. By substantial information I mean confirmed usage. I'm sure there are those that will rat out others for lots of cash.
