I'm sure SportsHoopla's #1 Tiger fan will have input on this....

Who makes up the Tiger's rotation? Verlander, Fulmer, Zimmermann....then pick two:

Anibal Sanchez, Mike Pelfrey, Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd, or Buck Farmer

Personally, I'd go with Norris, and if Sanchez is decent in ST...I'd give him a shot to start the season...his last shot!

Okay, you get one second baseman for 2017.

Who do you take?

A.) Whit Merrifield
B) Brett Lawrie
C) Jason Kipnis
D) Ian Kinsler
E) Brian Dozier

If I only get him for one year, I'd go with Kinsler. If I get to keep him for 2018-19....Kipnis.
I'm thinking along the lines that Dozier won't repeat last season and drift back to 2015 levels.

I agree with this.

Kinsler is sort of stuck in a tough spot financially. He makes $11mil this season...down from $14mil...after a very good year. And he still has a club option for $12mil for 2018. He'll be going into his 36 year old season after that, so a big pay day might not be in the cards for him, even if he plays well this year and next.
I assume Kinsler will be deadline trade bait this summer if Detroit is huggin' the toilet bowl at the end of July.

Hard to envision Dozier hitting 40+ bombs again. But he's a damn good hitter. 30+ doubles and 20+ homers seems like a lock.

What I'd like to see is Kinsler get his Ks back to career levels this year. (Not stick around near Dozier territory)Took a huge spike last year. Hoping he isn't going down the same path in his mid 30's that Torii Hunter did. (Less contact, increased power.)

Dozier is an extremely free-swinging hitter who got lucky last year and won't repeat that.

He clobbered a bunch of solo bombs for a 103 loss team.

Brian's deal is that he puts up great numbers in zero pressure situations. In 2015, with no expectations, he came out like gang busters and made the All-Star team (albeit as an injury replacement). In 2016, with increased expectations, he sucked so bad for the first two months that he should have been sent to the minors. A .200 average was being called the Men-Dozier line.

When the Twins were way out of contention, he turned into Barry Bonds (minus the walks).

I'm not saying he's a bad player, he's a damn good one actually. Good defense, good to great power and a solid clubhouse guy.

The Twins' problem is that we want him to be a leader and an Alpha, when he's not.

Anyways, I wanted him traded for pitching and didn't want to give him away. Unfortunately, the Dodgers and other teams clearly saw what I did and didn't want to give up the farm.

Sorry for the rant.
