Yep. It's a stretch going out on a limb. To say a team that last won in 1948 won't win it.
Never mind the slump they are in now...ignore that.

I know you don't answer direct questions, doug....but could you answer this one?

The Indians are 5-5 in their last 10 games. Is that a slump? (Detroit is 6-4, BTW)

Good lord. CB Buckner is brutal calling balls and strikes. Justin Upton has struck out twice and both pitches weren't even close to being strikes.

In all fairness to Mr. Buckner...Mr. Upton wouldn't know a strike if it hit him in the ass. He swings and misses at most of them. :) (And balls too, I guess)

Hey, meatball, the Tigers haven't won shit in forever either. Never mind the fact that they're 5.5 games behind now. . . ignore that.

Never said it was locked up. Just said the Indians are in a good spot right now and that you're a talking meatball, both of which are true.

Let me correct that. Upton seems to know the strike zone. Fangraphs does not list him as one who does a high percentage of swinging at pitches outside the zone. However, he is listed as 6th in the AL as the worst at making contact with pitches in or out of the strike zone.

Hahaha.

I'm getting negged and rainbowed by Vice's alt, @Marlins2003.

Too bad he won't post because he knows he's a dumb, lying pussy and he doesn't want to get his ass kicked all around these threads again. It'd make for some good entertainment.

There are 3 teams that will have decent offenses in the AL Central.. The Tigers, Royals, and White Sox... The Twins and Indians are going to be god awful offensively...

Runs Scored through 2/3rds of the season:

CLE - 485
DET - 471
MIN - 435
CHW - 406
KCR - 388

At least CB Buckner is consistent. Unfortunately it is consistently bad, but that is good for the pitchers. No chance that was strike 3 on bogaerts in the 9th. It was a foot outside.

No doubt Upton has struggled making the transition, but in his defense, he has had more bad strike 3 calls on him than the rest of the Tigers combined. With his swing and misses -- he doesn't need any extra help striking out.

Why in god's green earth would Ziegler pitch to Cabrera? Cabrera was 6-8 against in his career? 2 outs, no one on in a tie game in the 9th. Ty Red Sox.

Cleveland has to be hearing foot steps now. It is only 4.5 games back for the Tigers

Doug, I know adding facts only makes your head spin, but I have a couple...

1. Did you realize that Detroit is only 2.5 games out of a Wild Card spot?

2. Did you know that out of the 6 second place teams in their divisions, Detroit is the team farthest behind the first place team. (Except the Cardinals and the Cubs)

BTW....while Detroit is capable of catching Cleveland, my worry is, that in the next few days, the Tribe will add someone like Jonathan LuCroy, Jay Bruce, or even Andrew Miller of the Yankees. Meanwhile, the Tigers will not be able to add anyone from outside the organization to help. Man...wouldn't Chapman, Miller, or even Jeanmar Gomez of the Phillies been a nice add to the Tiger bullpen. Luckily they have Mark Lowe!!!!
