Actually the lions were 7-9 and were middle of the road... Actually getting the 16th draft pick.... So you are exaggerating a tad on the lions being among the worst in the nfl.

Tigers - 4 division titles, 1 al pennant, 4 playoff appearances
Lions - 2 playoff appearances, two seasons with double digit wins, two 7-9 seasons

I would hardly call that among the worst teams in their respective sports.

and just getting into playoffs is an accomplishment by itself even though they were one and done both times while getting their collective asses handed to them at New Orleans.

How does the 2013 season make the Lions among the league worst... When currently they finished with the 16th best record in the previous season and have more playoff appearances in the last 5 years than

I just want some clarity here... How a teams most recent results puts them as literally the middle of the pack in their respective league... Yet you claim their most recent results make them among the league worst... Can you clarify this stance please.
