What will Norris' IP limit be this year. 150 ? 160 ?

At his age and given the fact that he's never thrown more than 125 in a season, I'm sure there will be a limit somewhere in that range. For that reason, he'll likely be a #5 and Pelfrey a #4, so they can skip Norris now and then when the schedule permits.

Thank you.

tbh, I thought it was a little lower than the 125 but wasn't sure. I did assume he was going to the #5 this year and in that first 5 weeks of play they'd run with a 4-man rotation with Norris intermittently as the 5th SP as called for.

thanx once again

He threw 124.2 IP in one minor league season. I rounded up.

LOL, I wasn't being that technical.

I honestly thought it was 110 IP or slightly lower. I should have noted that. My memory evaded me momentarily on the actual IP

Tiger's rotation, to have any strength, needs Verlander and Sanchez to be capable of 15 wins. With the decent offense behind them - that is a possibility. My concern is health, I have no faith in Sanchez in that department and Verlander is "as old as fuck". Add in the team's lack of depth in starting pitching (Fulmer can't be counted on as a sure thing) and I can see the AL marching over the Tiger's rotation like the US Marines taking Tripoli (oops).

DD used the "stack the rotation and ride Miggy" approach and it couldn't win it, Avila is obviously going for a weaker rotation but stronger lineup and pen approach.

Don't knock it yet til its tried, they look like a stronger, complete team, not just a couple of big names and trash.

with out a doubt he has to be the one SP with the most concern for staying healthly. Should he go down early on, he hasn't in last three years (june 2013 and then back to back years of August), that will put a major strain on this rotation, imo. It would inevitably move Pelfrey and Norris up a spot and then resort to bringing someone up from Toledo. That could also put a huge strain on the BP should Pelfrey and Norris and whomever new #5 is don't manage to get an avg of 6 IP per.

I'm not attemping to be donnie downer, however, but Sanchez did have some nerve issues in his shoulder this last time, if I recall properly.

Watch it, I'll give you a negative rating for using the word trash. that doesn't go so well around here daBums. you're a donnie downer with that type of enthusiasm.

my bad, sub par MLBers. Tigers have the least amount of weak links in years, upgraded C, OF, RP, 3b could still grow, SS could make it a full season, if that all is improved the down grade in SPs won't be noticed.

MLB players better off with the Brewers?

MLB players better off coaching at Boys/Girls clubs of America?

MLB players who might excel in Japan?

I have no idea how to say it...

LOL. Verlander has a lot of innings on his arm, but 33 is certainly not "old as fuck".
Someone else said 34 was "as old as fuck". I was not exactly sure what the cutoff age was for fuckiness. :)

2B battle should be interesting. If by some miracle Infante is average and they can dump him at the deadline, that'd be great.

The fact is, what's behind Zimmerman and Verlander is likely average to garbage, so it's up to them to make any substantial improvement over the 2015 pitching staff.

In 2015, Price and Verlander contributed 279.1 innings of 2.93 ERA pitching to the Tigers, but still, the Tigers had a remarkably shitty rotation. So, the question is, can Verlander stay healthy enough, and Zimmerman pitch well enough to eclipse the Price/Verlander numbers enough to drag the rotation to respectability?
