AND the royals lose their 1st round pick.. so not only are they signing a back of the rotation starter to a long shitty contract.. but they are hurting their farm system too.

His career numbers vs AL teams is 5.19ERA with a 1.40 whip in 20 starts total. He also averaged giving up over a HR a start vs AL teams. I guess 70 mil doesn't buy what it used to in KC these days.

It'd take IK over Nolasco any day.

No.. they really can't. Not when they have Cain, Moustakas, Hosmer and Duffy all coming up on the final year of Arbitration next year.

2 years of improved attendance numbers isn't going to matter much if they fall off and the attendance goes back down. Its a 5 year deal.

KC is the smallest market in mlb. they have no margin for error.

If KC is smart they don't touch Perez's deal. Two years from now I would be surprised if he can even stand up anymore after the beating he has taken the last few seasons.
