Comparing a deal handed to a guy that was a former MVP and Cy Young winner to a guy that is a pile of shit is comical. Verlander will be better than Kennedy til the day he retires.yes, Verlander's contract will look great when he is 34+ and losing velocity, at least its 1/2 of verlanders deal.
Ok guy... enjoy your 31 yr old #5 starter making 70 mil over the next 5 years. Hope it goes well for you.he wasn't in 2014
When healthy doesn't happen though.Sanchez when healthy is light years better than Kennedy. The only reason I would agree is the injury risk.. but remember that Sanchez deal is up after 2017.
LOL.. yeah... you GOTTA over pay for Ian Kennedy... he is going to be the difference maker. LOLWhen healthy doesn't happen though.
I think if KC needs to, they'll be able to eat 3mil a year over the last two-three years of his deal and ship him to somebody that needs a vet. They're in win now mode. And you have to overpay for guys when you go that route, imo.
He's their ace, isn't he?Ok guy... enjoy your 31 yr old #5 starter making 70 mil over the next 5 years. Hope it goes well for you.
No.. he isn't... and thats what is funny. Ian Kennedy isn't better than any pitcher the Royals had slated to be in their rotation before this signing. He's their ace, isn't he?
Inthink he's a huge difference maker tbh. 200 innings would take a lot of burden off the bullpen.LOL.. yeah... you GOTTA over pay for Ian Kennedy... he is going to be the difference maker. LOL
when was the last time ian kennedy threw 200 innings?Inthink he's a huge difference maker tbh. 200 innings would take a lot of burden off the bullpen.
14 mil a year till he's 35 isn't going to be a back breaker for a defending World Series champion imo.
He's better than three guys in our rotation. And has pitched more innings the last two years than 4 out of our 5.No.. he isn't... and thats what is funny. Ian Kennedy isn't better than any pitcher the Royals had slated to be in their rotation before this signing.
2014.when was the last time ian kennedy threw 200 innings?
he is not better than velasquez, ventura, or medlen. and is about on par with duffy and young. He's better than three guys in our rotation. And has pitched more innings the last two years than 4 out of our 5.
Nobody is. But I assume he will.he is no lock to throw 200 innings...
Wanna place a friendly wager on this?Ian will pitch 200 innings, if close to Ervin Santana's while in KC with KC's defense, its a win.
Ian definitely won't give up near as many homers in Kaughman.
