Not arguing that Zimmermann could struggle early in the AL, but would like to see some stats or justification that the Tigers defense is "at best in the bottom half of the AL".

Below average:
1B - Miggy (good hands though, just below-average range)
3B - Castellanos

Above average:
C - McCann
2B - Kinsler
SS - Iglesias
LF - Upton
CF - Both Gose and Maybin
RF - J.D. Martinez
Zimmermann has 24 starts vs the AL in his career... and his ERA is 3.05 in those starts.

JD Martinez hitting 38 bombs was insane to me....i didnt see that coming at all....if u were to put an over under on how many HR's he has this year what would u say? 25?

I don't know. I'd probably up it a tad. I agree that 38 is going to be tough to replicate, but I think his power's for reals.

Thats because you are a retard. JD Martinez hit 23 HR in only 123 games in 2014.

Fangraphs rated Detroit's overall defense 8th....surprised actually. McCann's 0 errors a big factor

No. In fact, I didn't even read any reviews. I just wanted to see you rush to a pizza company's defense again.

So. Fucking. Funny.
LOL.. you are a real piece of work. I bet you have a very punchable face.

Interleague is not the same as switching leagues. Batters/hitting coaches don't spend the time preparing for interleague pitchers as much as they do for someone they may see over and over again.

He may switch to the AL with no bump in his ERA, but I wouldn't bet on it. Pretty rare that that happens.

He hit 38 bombs without a lot of lineup protection last year (Miggy and Vmart out a lot, and he had Castellanos or even Avila hitting behind him at times). He hit 23 HR in two-thirds of a season in 2014. I'd put money on over 30, if he is healthy all year.
its certainly possible

13 guys hit 30 or more homers last year

Davis
Cruz
Donaldson
Trout
Pujols
Bautista
Encarnacion
JD Mart
Ortiz
Machado
Arod
Tex
J. Abreu

is it possible he hits 30+ bombs next year? without a doubt...do i think its more likely than not? No. Im not saying JD is a fluke- because people have rightly brought up how power comes late, and sometimes guys dont develop until their later 20's- but just looking at that list if i had to guess 3 guys on that list that would fail to hit 30 this year JD would be one of them- disregarding injury anyway--- tex and albert i think have some nagging injuries.....and ARod is of course ancient.

I rest my case. Wingy Russ and others who call the Tigers defense poor are thinking of the teams they had in 2013 and earlier, which I agree were trash in the field.

Its funny how rival fans are hoping and praying for the Tigers free agents to struggle and injuries from the middle of the order to linger. That is the only way your lineup filled with bums is going to compete.

If J.D. Martinez plays 150 games, I'll do an avatar bet on over 30.

I said in 2014 that his batting average was a fluke, but the power was legit. He proved me right (and then some) in 2015. He hits home runs to all fields. He will have two great OBP guys in front of him, if they are healthy, so he'll see a lot of strikes. Some games, he will have Upton hitting behind him.

having Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar and a great closer certainly helps.....as well as a very deep staff with arms that range from vets like Tomlin, to intermediate young guys with experience like Bauer- to the prospects like Clevinger, Sheffield, etc...when you combine that pitching with a very solid defense you are definitely going to give yourself a chance...

plus we all know the Indians corner spots are pretty pathetic power wise- but up the middle- they are pretty darn strong.

after Chris Sale- if i am taking into account the big picture- talent, contract, age, etc...i gotta think Kluber, Carrasco and Salazar- along with Sale (and sale would be either 1 or 2 behind in front of or behidn Kluber)- are the 4 most valuable SP in the central.

Miggy Cabrera had one less HR than the best HR hitter the Indians had.. in about 15 less games... with obvious injuries... What does that say about your shit lineup?

leave-britney-alone-o.gif

LEAVE MIGGY ALONE!!!
