Only Giants fans would describe a 4-run outing as a “weekly dose of runs”.They are getting in their weekly dose of runs in an efficient manner, all in one game.

Probably his manager is holding him back.McCray with two hits, a walk, two steals. I especially enjoyed later in the game where he singled, stole 2nd, WP to 3rd, came into score on Wisely's bunt. It just puzzles me why McCray doesn't run every chance he gets, it can be disruptive to the other team. Tonight showed a little of how that can work.
I think it is deeper than that. The Giants weren't aggressive on the base paths under Kapler either. I think it has to do with analytics, there is probably something that tells the org that doing so is too risky.Probably his manager is holding him back.
The argument is that having 10 guys on 1st is more valuable than having 7 guys on 2nd (or whatever the actual numbers would be). But that simple calculation doesn’t factor in momentum or distraction caused to the defense, or the 1 in 10 guys who get to 3rd due to an error.I think it is deeper than that.
