I love the new wild card format, but that play in game is a mean bitch. Indians lost that one in 2013 and I was at the game. I had really great seats too - about six or seven back from home plate. Fucking stressful and ultimately disappointing.

Pretty crazy to see how they've fallen in terms of close game records. From 2008-2016 the Yankees were the best team in MLB in 2-run games. This year, they're 22nd and they are 28th in 1-run games.

Mo was there for a lot of that. He was one hell of a stabilizing force at the back of that bullpen.

That's true, but their record in 2-run games in 2014-2016 without Mo is pretty much the same as their record from 2008-2013 with Mo. .567 the last 3 years and .566 the previous 6.

And their record in 1-run games the last 3 years is higher (.556) than the previous 6 years with Mo (.546).
