Well the Celtics now give up a 2nd round pick for the Cavs to finalize the deal. Clearly means the Cavs KNEW about IT's issues and fleeced the hell out of the Celtics. Ainge you are stupid!

Red Sox win

Yankees lose BOTH to Cleveland (hats off Cleveland)

2nd round pick is like giving up nothing in the NBA

This isn't the NFL, that guy won't even make the roster

They shouldn't have to even given up that to complete the deal, period...

Sano hasn't improved much since landing on the disabled list earlier in the month, so he'll take a few days off from his rehab before picking things up again. He remains without a timetable for his return at this point, though one should come into focus once he sheds his walking boot and resumes baseball activities. Eduardo Escobar has seen the majority of starts at third base in Sano's absence.

Getting off pretty Easy considering the centerpiece of the deal is damaged

Fleeced by giving them a 2nd round pick? That's dumb.

Center piece of the deal is the Brooklyn pick, I think that's what the Cavs most wanted.

Dodgers lose their 4th in a row for the first time all season. Diamondbacks win their 6th in a row and now open up a 6 game cushion for a playoff spot. Looks like they'll get in.

True
But the Cavs are trying to win a title this season and if Thomas is fucked, so are the Cavs

I think the Brooklyn pick could actually be more important to winning a title this year than IT. Cavs still need another player to compete with Golden State, and if the pick gains value by the Nets still sucking, they can use it to potentially add that piece at the deadline.

Go Brooklyn! Be funny if Danny tanked a few games to the nets.

Oh yeah, from that angle, I agree

But trading that pick knowing Lebron is walking, that's dangerous to say the least

Pretty crazy to see how they've fallen in terms of close game records. From 2008-2016 the Yankees were the best team in MLB in 2-run games. This year, they're 22nd and they are 28th in 1-run games.

Well you're not beating Golden State without another piece. So, if the Nets suck and the pick is guaranteed top 3, do you hold it, lose to Golden State (or the Celtics in the ECF), and then watch LeBron walk and hope the ping pong balls fall in your favor. Or do you trade the pick, increase your chances of beating Golden State and the Celtics, go after one more title with LeBron, and then he walks and you build around whatever asset you got+IT if you resign him.

Definitely a tough call and depends on what asset you can get. I'm curious to see if/when Anthony Davis becomes available or if the Butler/Wiggins/KTT thing works in Minnesota.

Amazing how the starting staff, considered a weakness, is the strength of this team. The BP is so brutally mis managed and overrated

And the lineup just lacks consistency, and that one guy you can count on in a big spot

Would be funny if the Celtics wanted to give them the protected Lakers pick, instead of the Brooklyn pick, and then the Lakers pick ends up higher than the Nets.
