Yep tough loss for Hill, but it's only the 5th loss for the Dodgers since Kershaw went on the DL. Did the D-Backs win today? What a hilarious way to lose for the Dodgers.
cry about it
Im not sure the basketball trade moves the needle on either team.
IT played his best ball with the Celtics almost guaranteed and previously was known for controlling the ball too much which is why he has been a bit of a journeyman.
Kyrie Irving is injury prone, doesn't play defense and apparently beefs with one of the most valuable players in any sport.
That draft pick, though...
So was the mid-90s to early 2000s attendance records just a mirage because the Browns left and the Cavaliers sucked? My theories:
- One of the smallest -- if not the -- metropolitan areas to have pro football, baseball and basketball. The Indians compete with the Browns and Cavs for Clevelands' expendable income. It's a browns town and Lee Brown is a big draw for the Cavs.
- Geographically landlocked. Two hours to the east is the Pirates. Two hours to the west you start running into Tigers and to a lesser extent Cubs territory. Two hours south you butt up against Reds territory. Immediately north is a shitton of water.

I believe Cleveland is the smallest metropolitan area to have those 3. Pittsburgh isn't much bigger and they have 3 (although hockey instead of basketball).
Just a little surprising to see under 20k attendance for a game against the Red Sox.
I always thought Cleveland's fandom went 1. Ohio State football, 2. Browns, 3. Indians, 4. Cavaliers.
Fair enough on the first 2 pointsI wouldn't call it a mirage -- it did happen -- but those circumstances certainly were part of it. The brand new Gateway district, including Jacobs Field, Gund Arena and restaurants and bars made downtown Cleveland a place to be when it hadn't been for years.
There was also the sustained success of the Indians.
Pittsburgh's attendance sucks too.
Folks probably didn't feel like dealing with Red Sox fans trying to suck their dicks in the men's restroom.
I'm not sure where I'd place the Buckeyes on that list. Not first, though. It's a Browns town.
That's good to know considering the success of Ohio State and the lack of success for the Browns.
It's a football state (which explains tOSU's history of success and why the best things in UofM's history came out of Ohio).
That 2007 Browns offense was legit. I remember drafting Derek Anderson in fantasy the next year. Unlucky they didn't make the playoffs. No doubt. People love the fucking browns regardless of their abject ineptitude.
I remember being so frustrated in 2007 walking out of The Jake after the postseason-clinching game. The Indians were arguably the best team in baseball that year (probably the Red Sox), they'd just clinched a playoff berth and as I walking out of the game, the entire crowd around me was talking talking about the Browns' upcoming season.

98.5 the entire ride hom last night was waiting for either cespedes or dare i say stanton.booooooo. Bryce Brentz's time has come (again)!
So, if the Tribe owns Sale, do the Sox own Kluber?
