Well you're not beating Golden State without another piece. So, if the Nets suck and the pick is guaranteed top 3, do you hold it, lose to Golden State (or the Celtics in the ECF), and then watch LeBron walk and hope the ping pong balls fall in your favor. Or do you trade the pick, increase your chances of beating Golden State and the Celtics, go after one more title with LeBron, and then he walks and you build around whatever asset you got+IT if you resign him.

Definitely a tough call and depends on what asset you can get. I'm curious to see if/when Anthony Davis becomes available or if the Butler/Wiggins/KTT thing works in Minnesota.

Yes, I think an Anthony Davis is truly that possible game changer, not sure on Butler or Wiggins, the gap is wider than that IMO

I think it's possible Gilbert takes the screw Lebron stance, and worries more about the future than getting Lebron more help. There seems to be bad blood there, and Ownership just may not be all in on this season

Yankees lose BOTH to Cleveland (hats off Cleveland)

First time the Indians have swept a double header against the Yankees since 1995, and the first time they've swept a three-game series in the Bronx since 1980-something or other.

As an Indians fan who's listened to Yankees fans talk shit for decades, It feels good to have landed a trade piece the Yankees wanted and potentially wrecked their season with a three game sweep, in their house, in front of thousands of their fans.

Fuck you, Yankees.

2nd round pick is like giving up nothing in the NBA

This isn't the NFL, that guy won't even make the roster
interesting stat:

morris, whom the celtics got from detroit, has held lebron james to the lowest PPG of any one on one defender in the NBA over the last 2 years.

Don't be too happy. I enjoyed the shit out of watching the Tribe sweep your collection of dick-sniffers out the playoffs last year and ending the HOF career of that doped-up mexican freak.

It depends on which one of those 3 would be available in Butler/Wiggins/KTT. But that wouldn't be until next summer at the earliest, as they'll want at least a year to see what they can do with it. I think it highly unlikely that any of those guys get moved though.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if the Pelicans are pretty bad come Christmas, and trade Cousins and Davis to really tank. Vegas has them at 19th highest over-under and you really want to be top 5 in this draft. Cousins would be a rental so you might be able to get a young player from a contender, and Davis is where you can really get a massive deal. If I'm the Pelicans, I try to get two bites at the apple by getting a high pick (which Cleveland and potentially Boston could both have) and tank to the point where I have a chance at top 5. Best case scenario, you get a young player for Cousins and two top 5 picks to build around.

I saw a post of yours a while ago that said you'd been in Cleveland and enjoyed it. That's cool and I'm glad you had a good time. It's actually a pretty cool city -- don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those that thinks you can do anything here that you can do anywhere else, but there's a lot more going on than most people know.

You either had someone with credible local knowledge tell you where to go and what to do, or you got lucky. I can't tell you how many people will tell me they went to Cleveland and hated it and when I ask them what they did, they went to a bunch of shitty places that I would never go to. Recently, Rock did that - was in town for a convention and I think he ate multiple times at some italian joint that I've never heard of and can't believe it even exists. For it's size, Cleveland's culinary scene is pretty stout.

Regardless, glad you enjoyed.:suds:

I posted this on yesterday's thread, but I'm posting it again here. If you don't like it, fuck yourself and change your mind.

If the Astros, Indians and Red Sox continue to win at the pace they've set in the second half, they'll finish the season like this:

CLE - 95-67
BOS - 93-69
HOU - 92-70
